I have purchased two Stelling banjos, one used and one special order. Sherry and Geoff were a pleasure to work with and the banjo is nothing short of awesome. What makes Stelling Banjo Works different is the ability for the buyer/musician to be able to talk to the person who physically makes your banjo. Additionally, the Stellings (Shery and Geoff) welcomed my wife and I during a visit to their facility. The instruments are hands above my other banjos (Gibson, Deering Recording King). The tone, craftsmanship, and attention to detail, make the Stelling banjo the top instrument available to banjo players....and yes, it's made by hand, in America. Highly recommend!

I saw Geoff didn't have a review on Yelp. His banjos are incredible. Loud, clear, bright, beautifully made. Geoff is one of the premier banjo makers in the country and produces banjos with a unique sound that you will immediately know is his instrument. Even though I have many high end banjos, including a prewar Gibson, Geoff's banjo is the one I pick up and brings me the most joy playing (mine is a Golden Cross with a highly flamed wood back, lovely inlays, carefully placed binding, and a huge rich tone).
