These people are the most helpful, considerate individuals. They took the time to take me out, help me locate an area, and then walk the area with me to help me locate the grave. They care about what they do! And the serenity and peace you feel as you visit this cemetary. Guys, keep up the good work! You are a jewel in an otherwise thoughtless industry!
I chose Mt. Olivet as the memorial for my loved one 13 years ago because of its beauty and how well cared for the cemetery was. I come back several times a year to place flowers, and have noticed a significant decline in how well cared for things are now.
I was there just this past weekend and the grass is patchy and overgrown. There are Prairie Dog holes everywhere and some of them are pretty big with mounds of dirt dug up.
Not sure what has changed but it isn’t a pretty cemetery anymore and it’s disappointing.
Incredibly beautiful cemetery, and it’s actually my favorite one in all of SLC. They just close waaaaay too early! Last couple times I came by a man in a truck pulls up and tells us that he’s closing the gates the minute I arrive. 8 PM would be a much better time, especially since I prefer to visit when the sun isn’t so high in the sky.
