  • Atlas Tree Service, also known as SavATree, is a business founded by Ralph Robbins in 1978 with the goal of preserving trees from the damaging effects of the Gypsy Moth Caterpillar. They provide a variety of tree care services, including tree removal, stump grinding, and trimming/pruning. One customer used Atlas to remove a 45-foot spruce tree that had died. The company did a great job both removing the tree and grinding the stump. They were on time, cleaned up after themselves, and the customer would recommend them for any tree work. Another customer needed assistance with four large trees that had not received proper care in several years. An arborist from Atlas, Mitch, discussed in detail what should be done with the silver maple, Syracuse maple, Norway maple, and mulberry trees. The crew arrived on time and efficiently trimmed and pruned the trees, making them healthier and less likely to lose limbs in high winds. The customer was very satisfied with the professional service and the clean-up. In the winter, a large pine tree fell into the street due to heavy snowfall. The customer called Atlas at 7:30 am and they had a team to their house an hour later to remove the tree. The customer was pleased with the team's work. In summary, Atlas Tree Service is a professional and efficient company that provides a range of tree care services. They are dedicated to customer satisfaction and ensuring the health and safety of trees.

From Atlas Tree Service - SavATree

SavATree was founded by Ralph Robbins in 1978 with a single objective in mind; to save trees from the devastating effects of repeated defoliations by the Gypsy Moth Caterpillar (Lymantria dispar). While this moth was accidentally introduced into the United States by French entomologist Leopold Trouvelot in 1868, it was not until the late 1970’s that the population exploded in the Northeast. Ralph, a graduate of Paul Smith’s college and entrepreneur at heart, saw an opportunity to make a difference in support of tree preservation and care.
