About Higher Ground Hot Yoga

Higher Ground Hot Yoga is a heated yoga studio that offers a wide range of classes, including 26+2 (formerly Bikram), Advanced, Vinyasa, Yin, Yinyasa, Ashtanga, and specialty classes. The studio is located above a coffee shop, with a design that features stones, plants, crystals, and a generally positive atmosphere. The teachers at Higher Ground Hot Yoga are described as excellent and friendly, providing helpful tips to students. While some classes, like Vinyasa, tend to be heavily attended by regulars, the studio's main challenge seems to be managing the number of students in the space, as some have complained about feeling overcrowded during busier sessions. The studio offers an unlimited $50 pass, and reviewers have noted the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the availability of showers. Overall, Higher Ground Hot Yoga is praised for its sense of community and the quality of its classes, though the issue of overcrowding is a concern that the studio may need to address.

I do love higher ground hot yoga and maybe I'll continue to go. I tried out the $50 unlimited and I'll give you my honest thoughts. I've traveled a bit and I've been to a lot of hot yoga. For one. Lack of space is a my biggest complaint. They need to control the amount of people they allow, and allow less. They pack you in here like a can of sausages and not the good kind. I have left here with my yoga mat drenched in another man's truly god awful foul smelling sweat and I can't get it out of my mat. I bent over in Padottanasana and well nearly hit face to face with a strangers ball sa**. You can smell what the person next to you had for dinner and you have to move in such a way that it affects your practice. So I'll give the amount of space they give you a no go. Or maybe they just need to open more locations. Second no go is one of the instructors said some super insulting things like "Maybe some of you are stupid and should use your brain." And "Maybe some of you should be getting on your knees and begging for forgiveness from God." And not in a nice way either. He said it with a laugh. Super. Super rude. He also pumped up the heat way higher than what was supposed to be for that class. No other instructors had done that. Positives-All of the other instructors I experienced were fantastic. Heat as to be expected, awesome flow to the classes. Etc. The bathrooms are clean and they also offer showers if that's your jam. You can trust that your stuff won't get stolen which is a big perk. It's located on top of a coffee shop which smells fantastic so you can grab a cup before or after.

This is my first hot yoga practice in Ogden after moving from the East Coast. Maddie greeted me with a smile and gave me a tour of the space. Lilli taught a challenging and accessible 26 + 2 and cares greatly for her newer students. I am looking forward to practicing with this community.
