I had the opportunity to visit Select Jiu Jitsu while in Waco, and it was an absolutely top-notch experience from start to finish. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making it easy to feel at home right away—even as a visitor.
Professor Lance is clearly a highly knowledgeable and experienced instructor. He communicates technique with clarity and patience, and it’s obvious he cares deeply about his students’ progress and the overall quality of the academy. This academy is awesome and so entertaining! This is my wife's home away from home! She loves this place, and everyone here is like a family. I come with Vanessa sometimes to watch her train, and I am always smiling and laughing. Great crowd, great lil' family. #shakyleg ?
I was passing through Waco cuz my friend that I was road tripping with was set on visiting that town cuz of the Chip and Joanna. I looked for a gym to stay active and I called Select Jiu Jitsu and they were extremely kind to let me drop in for a day of training. The class that day was taught by one of the brown belts. I forget his name but he's also a professor at the university. Learning from him was amazing. Kind of reminded me of Danaher style of teaching. Super calm, cerebral, and philosophical. I wish I had the time to take more classes but I was only in Waco for 1 day. Thank you for your professional service and the great mat time!
