I was recently told by my dentist that he saw an area on my tongue that concerned him and that I should see an Oral Surgeon he recommended for a biopsy. His recommendation wasn’t covered by my insurance, couldn’t see me for a few weeks and then turns out he couldn’t even perform that type of biopsy! I was seriously upset since I had a friend who passed away from mouth cancer. I immediately contacted Dr. Parikah‘s assistant and shared my concerns. I soon received a call back from Robin Martinelli, the Practice Regional Manager who was extremely understanding & compassionate to my heightened fears. Robin explained that Dr. Parikah couldn’t perform that specific type of biopsy either but wanted to personally assist me in finding a doctor that could and sooner rather than late. Robin found me a surgeon in the same building and had gotten me scheduled to see him for the following day! DermSurgery and Robin were amazing and I highly recommend the entire team! Turns out the patch on my tongue was absolutely nothing and probably caused by hot cheese on a pizza or a hot creamy soup giving the area a slight burn! 🙏
