Brand new home that has a brand new ac unit. The ac unit is not even 2 years old and has broken 4 times. The second time the man who worked on it said “oh that happens with these newer units and you will have to call us each time because it requires our electrical equipment to fix it.” On the fourth time it broke, my husband talks to the ac worker, when he tells him what the second guy said…. “What? No, in the second report all it said was he flipped the breaker. Husband said that he tried that and the worker said next time flip the breaker and leave it flipped for 5 minutes then turn it back on. That is all the first guy did.” Each time it has stopped working it has been for different reasons. Wondering if they sell faulty ac units just so the customer has to continue to be serviced by them. Lived in homes with 10 years ac units, no issues. Brand new one, breaks down every 6 months.

    Replying to owners response:

The fact you feel it is acceptable for a brand new AC unit to go out 4 times in 2 years tells myself and customers exactly the products they will get from this company. Also I only spoke to your office one time because I continuously over and over and over again got a bill for 150-200 dollars, that I had already paid. I work night shifts so it is difficult to communicate with a company open on days so I had my mother contact to speak to you after the unit broke 2 times in less than 2-3 days. You had told my mother you were on vacation and would get back to her. You never got back to my mother and I absolutely trust and believe my mother over a company that sold a unit that breaks down 4 times in 2 years. Yes y'all are meant to be available for emergencies services but my husband and I both tried to call the fourth time it broke, no answer. Had to get my contractor involved, who had informed me they are going through a different company now and suggested someone else to fix issues. As I said prior, lived in a house with a 10 year unit, worked fine. Lived in a home in Florida, with a 12 year unit, never broke.

We had quiet an experience with Ken's. Was it the worst? Not particularly, but it was disappointing. The first time we had a technician come out to look at the A/C because it was having issues. They were late and didn't bother to call to let us know. We had to call and ask them where the technician was. I'm not naive to the fact that there is a lot of work, but I don't appreciate being told that a business will be there for an appointment and I have to reschedule my days to make sure to be present, and then not to even receive a call. What was supposed to be a morning appointment turned into an afternoon, and I lost an entire day waiting. After they had assessed the problem and we decided to change out the unit, that in itself was a long endeavor. The lady who answered the phones was very polite and I appreciated her help and her patience with all of our calls. She had passed a message to a sales person to get us a quote in which took him a long time to get back to me (about 2 weeks after I requested a quote). My husband eventually had to call, and of course, that finally got things rolling. Once everything was ordered and ready to move forward, our date to get the new unit installed kept getting pushed back. What was more annoying is that we had to be the ones to constantly follow up. Very unprofessional! They first told us one day, and that didn't happen. Again, another day, and it also didn't happen. They would say they would reach out to let us know by the end of the day of any updates and that never happened either. We kept having to rearrange our schedules because they were giving us the run around. Finally, the day we had finally confirmed, they were a little over 2 hours late! The day before they had told us we would be the first call. After an hour passed and WE had to call them, we were told they were caught up at another job and would be late. Again, I get emergencies and last minute things happen. However, it takes probably 2 minutes (if that) to make a call to let customers know what is going on. I was irate to say the least. Again, left to change plans because they were late. My husband had to speak to the owner because they kept giving us the run around only to be told that they were busy. Again, I understand that it can be busy but to be so busy to dismiss a customer who is paying thousands of dollars for your business is ridiculous. The people we interacted were very polite and easy going but the lack of communication really irked me as well as their response to our concerns. Otherwise, the job was done as told.

I noticed there was a hose lying on the floor & asked if this could be the problem. It was. Problem solved immediately. It was taped to hold it in place as well. Hopefully, that will not be a problem again.
