This is not the same Roof I've eaten at , and attended different functions at. Our server was wonderful, but the food, eh. This was steak night, and it tasted like the steak was microwaved then a lot of salt added to it. The side salad was tasty, and the garlic mashed potatoes were ok. The drinks were good. This was a birthday celebration for my daughter's 33rd. No dessert or something to celebrate her. The 20% gratuity was definitely out of line for this meal..I'd rather tipped just the server , but the food , no.

We don't stay to eat but the app requires rating all areas. When we arrived there was no one at the Host stand. We waited a few minutes before the bar tender acknowledged us but he was addressing another customer. While waiting my wife walked over to explore the self serve buffet. She saw two different people using their hands to retrieve food. After she returned to the Host stand we were seated and left on our own for several more minutes before a waiter stopped by to ask if we had been served. For the atmosphere and the fact there was only one waiter and one hostess; it tells you how much business this place gets. I really attempt to support black owned businesses, but why the gratuity without telling everyone up front and/or posting everywhere. My waiter was super nice and available, but due to the required gratuity and not being an ambience like Steak 48, Brennans, or Maestros deserving gratuity...I will have to pass.
