Stumbled across this very unique and unusual spot in SPI while wandering around on a cloud, cool holiday week afternoon … so glad we did! ABI SPI is a small business incubator whose mission is basically two-fold, provide new and upcoming local artists with space to produce their wares and teach them how to run a business, so they can make a career out of their creative passion. Super nice folks there, explained it all … many fun and interesting pieces on the tables and walls, work areas, meeting tables and they have art classes too! Highly recommend you stop by and visit with these folks… it’s a one of a kind shop in SPI!
Came here to learn about their ring making classes with my young daughter and my husband. They offer great classes and it's nice to know that artist are able to create and you are watch them if they are there. I didn't give them 5 stars only because I wish they had something for families. I'm sure they'd get a lot more people if that would be available, so maybe they should look into doing this.
Wonderful gallery with artists working on new pieces every day. This is the place to meet rising art stars at South Padre, chat about what inspires them and find awesome pieces to collect. Currently there is a ceramicist and silversmith as well as traditional artists. There is an emphasis on teaching others and desire to share skills - great offering of classes each month as well.
