In mid-July the last thing you want to happen is your home A/C unit to stop. Well, ours did, on a weekend night! My husband and I struggled to get a big window unit out of our shed and installed as a temporary fix.
Then the REAL work began - trying to get a repair person to respond. We had three companies that came out. Two of them charged us a trip charge. None of them fixed anything. One said it would cost us $500 on top of the trip charge just to troubleshoot the problem. One was the A/C company who installed the unit years ago. Obviously it was no longer under warranty. So I only had a question about the new electrical code. And let me tell you this gentleman was the only one out of 3 companies who was willing to speak to me and let me know that the code changed in 2020. Because of this, if I have any electrical issues that is not covered under my rental agreement. This man will be my electrician. I will also recommend him to anybody, Just because of this one phone call.
