About WellMed at NW 410
WellMed is a network of doctors, specialists, and other medical professionals who specialize in providing care to more than 1 million older adults at over 16,000 doctors' offices in Texas and Florida. Their goal is to change the face of healthcare delivery by providing quality, proactive patient care with a focus on prevention. They empower patients to live healthier lives through the support of an entire medical team that works together to provide the best care possible. Care is available in their clinics or through virtual video visits, and they accept traditional Medicare and a number of Medicare Advantage health insurance plans. Patients have praised the exceptional care they have received at WellMed. Dr. Prezas, a primary care provider, is described as offering top-notch care, with patients feeling important, respected, and treated with dignity. The office staff is also highly commended for their excellent communication, promptness in resolving insurance issues, and going above and beyond to ensure patients receive the necessary medications. The waiting area is well-equipped with amenities like coffee, chess, and TVs with morning shows and news, creating a comfortable environment for patients. One patient, who was new to the area, had a wonderful experience during their visit to establish care. Despite a 30-minute wait, the patient felt the staff took the time to listen and made them feel comfortable and cared for, which was particularly important for someone who finds it difficult to trust medical professionals. However, some patients have faced challenges in scheduling appointments, with one patient reporting that the doctor they chose could not see them for up to 6 months. This highlights the importance of patients being well-informed about appointment availability when selecting a provider. Overall, WellMed is praised for its commitment to providing quality, personalized care to its patients, with a team of dedicated medical professionals and staff who work together to support the health and wellbeing of their patients.
The moment I walked into the office, the staff was very friendly. I was saddened to hear my favorite staff members Lupe and Ariseli were laid off, due to Medicaid cuts. I met with Nurse Practitioner Arlene Kasperkhan. NP was very attentive and listened to me. I had breast cancer surgery 10 days ago, and I asked her to check out my incisions. She was a Gods send. She reassured my incisions were not infected. Kasperkahn is a caring, compassionate NP.
Dr Prezas is respectful, compassionate, and understanding. He explains in detail any treatment or medication that I may need but may not understand. Dr Prezas creates my visit with patience, clarity welcoming and a supportive demeanor. Thank you
Dr. Prezas is my primary care provider. I begrudgingly had to switch this past year, as my other doctor moved practices. The care I have received from Dr. Prezas and his staff has been top notch. I feel like I have been missing out! I feel so important here! I am treated with respect and dignity, always greeted by smiling faces, and their communication is just superb! I was prompted to write this review because recently one of my medications was denied by my insurance, even though I've been taking it for four years. So, the office called me and told me and I let them know it happened at my last refill too and I would just pay out of pocket like I did last time, because I just need my medicine. The woman (Alexis, I think) told me she was still waiting to hear back and I told her they sent me the notice of denial already. That was on a Wednesday, I think lol. The next day, she called me with an update that the insurance would cover it. So I went to get my medicine! They still charged me regular price with pharmacy discounts. I didn't mind, i figured i was going to pay for it anyway. However, today I got a letter from my insurance saying that my doctor's office requested a fast appeal for me! And they approved it after further review! I've never had a doctor's office do that. I thought they went above and beyond for me and I will be requesting my money back from my insurance lol. That instance is not the only thing they have done exceptionally well, that is just the one I'm writing about. They find veins well, speak professionally, have coffee and chess in the waiting area, TVs with morning shows/news, etc. I have not seen one person upset there--patient or employee. It's so hard to find a good doctor that actually listens and even harder to find one that has a competent office staff. They have really nailed it here! You guys are awesome and I look forward to seeing you at my next blood work! Edited to add: they also sent a refill request to the pharmacy on a Saturday for me. I used the app to request it, had it the next day!
