This is a husband-wife team. I have only met the husband (Dr. Rafael) because he is the one who treats exotics. I call him “Saint Rafael” because he is so knowledgeable, warm and kind. We use another vet, closer to home, for our dogs and cats, and I would say Portland’s prices are comparable. This is a very busy clinic, and I often have to wait, but it is worth it!! The clinic is small and older and not fancy but you won’t find better people or better care anywhere!

We are new to the area and wanted emergency care for our little Yorkie. They were extremely busy but still took us right in to treat our baby. Everyone was so very kind, helpful, and understanding. Even though Mickey didn't survive the day because of old age problems that we were unaware of until Xrays revealed underlying issues. The Vet was so gracious and knowledgeable. This will be our other young Yorkies go to vet from now on.

We've been with them for 20 years, great doc. Always remembers some small treatment from 3 years ago. It would be 5 stars. But after covid I've been waiting 2,3, or 4 hours for a scheduled appointment. They are just overwhelmed. Go early.
