My husband and I are truly so grateful that the Lord led us to Priscilla (and Hannah, her student midwife) for the birth of our daughter
I appreciated that I never felt like I was just another appointment on her schedule. Our prenatal appointments were often around an hour long, which gave us time not only to check on our baby and talk about my health, but also to actually get to know one another. We talked about birth stories, my questions and concerns, motherhood, life, and so much more. She was always available when I had a question or something I was concerned about, and that meant so much to me as a first-time mom.
I also loved knowing that Priscilla and I shared many of the same values, especially our trust in the Lord and our view of birth. Throughout my pregnancy and birth, she encouraged me to trust that God had designed my body to give birth and that my body knew what to do. She did a tremendous job at our birth, comforting, encouraging and meeting all my needs! I also knew that if my birth had required us to transfer somewhere other than home, she would have been an incredible advocate for me and the things that mattered to us.
And Hannah, the student midwife who attended my birth, was such a blessing as well. I truly believe she is going to make a wonderful midwife one day. I am so thankful she was part of our daughter’s birth story, and I will always remember the encouragement and kindness she showed me during such an intense birth story.
Being able to give birth to our daughter at home was something that meant so much to my husband and me, and Priscilla and Hannah helped make that possible. They cared for us so well throughout the entire process, and even after our daughter was born, they were incredibly thoughtful. They took care of everything and cleaned up so well that we were simply able to settle in and enjoy those first precious moments together as a family.
We could not have had the home birth we hoped and prayed for without them.
If the Lord blesses us with another baby and another opportunity for a home birth, I would absolutely choose Priscilla again. I cannot recommend her enough — truly 10/10. ❤”
