I came to Lubbock for a short visit from Houston & desperately needed a quick hair trim. It was a Monday so most shops were closed. I spent half the day driving around & calling hair saloons. They were either booked, didn't answer, or didn't return my phone call. So I tried again Tuesday. A friend recommended Paul at Bluebird Saloon. Not being from Lubbock, I felt a little lost. I almost changed my mind about getting a haircut. They are located in the Pueblo Building. Anyway I found the building & eventually found Suite 107 D. Its a small shop, with a recent update, super clean, very quaint with a comfortable atmosphere & friendly people. Paul immediately greeted me at the door. I really don't like crowds & usually dread going to a hair saloon for a haircut. But I felt so comfortable here & loved the personalized experience I got from Paul. Last year due to illness & medications I lost alot of hair & what I have left is dry & damaged. So I cannot use any chemicals on my hair. It is trying to grow back. So I only wanted to trim the ends. Paul suggested layering the back slightly. I was afraid at first but decided to trust his opinion as a stylist and agreed. When he started cutting I got nervous, as usual, but he was very reassuring & eased my nervousness, lol. When he was finished, my hair looked beautiful, softer & fuller. It was a big Wow for me with all I've been thru with my hair. His prices are great compared to other saloons. I gave him a 34 % tip & still feel like I should of given him more. I got way more than expected, not just a quick trim but a a nice great new style with more body that makes my hair look fuller. My only regrets are, not being able to come back except when I'm visiting Lubbock, & now it will be harder to get an appointment after doing this review. But Paul did a great job, he is super sweet & put up with me. So I feel I owe it to him to show my appreciation. Thank you Paul, can't wait to come back.
