Very disappointed with J&R Landscaping. I clearly requested that 1–2 inches of grass and soil be removed, fresh soil added, and the yard leveled before sod was installed. The workers who showed up seemed unaware of that plan, and I was later told their “normal” process is just to weed-whack the grass down and lay soil and sod on top, which is not what I asked for.
The job also lacked professionalism. One worker spent a lot of time on his phone. I don't think the job would have been completed if it wasn't for the other worker.
What upset me the most was that I paid for three pallets of sod, and when the job was done, one of the workers started loading a nearly full leftover pallet back onto the trailer. When I called the office, I was told that this is “just what they do” because most people do not want the extra. I was never asked. If I paid for it, it belongs to me. When I asked if I would be reimbursed for the remaining sod, the office rep giggled and said no. I demanded to keep the sod and the rep said she would tell the workers to leave it.
Even though the section of yard looks decent, this was a very frustrating experience. I would not recommend this company.

J and R Landscaping is a top notch company! We have been using them for many years. Just recently they installed new sod, palm trees and plants. The whole neighborhood has complemented on the new yard.

Excellent Pygmy date palm trees delivered and planted. Technicians did an excellent job of placement and installation. Finished installation looks great. Very happy with the trees and the technician’s installation. Also had great experience with Ross when he first came to our home to give us ideas and quote.
