I was stationed there right out of Navy boot camp in 1966. Hot. windy, not much to do. About 1 hour from Padre Island (before it became a Spting Break spot). The only places in the region were Texas A&I, a nitroglycerin plant, and the King ranch.
Pray for the Pilots Training and the people who service the aircraft
I was stationed at the Medical Clinic from 99-01, loved it there!!
