About AdventHealth Central Texas Sleep Disorders Center

AdventHealth Central Texas Sleep Disorders Center provides outpatient diagnostic testing for sleep-wake disorders, including insomnia, hypersomnia, narcolepsy, parasomnia, and sleep apnea. The center records patients' physiological responses during sleep to help accurately diagnose medical problems related to sleep issues. The data is then interpreted by professionals and shared with the patient's referring physician along with treatment recommendations. The center is equipped to assist those experiencing persistent sleep problems that impair work or social life, or when a physician suspects a sleep disorder is contributing to medical concerns. However, patient experiences at the facility vary widely. Some patients report poor care, with accusations of overmedicating without permission, misinformation on charts, and disrespectful treatment. Complaints include staff silencing patients when they attempt to leave against medical advice, and patients feeling ignored or dismissed, with issues such as lack of communication about their care and procedures. Concerns about staff hovering over patients, loud protests, and arguments about medical orders have been noted. One patient expressed frustration over being left in personal clothes without clear instructions for basic needs like showers, and feeling disrespected and dismissed despite having a healthcare background. In contrast, some staff members are praised for their kindness and professionalism. Notably, nurse practitioner Jillian Hudson received high praise for her attentive care, thorough explanations, and prompt treatment. Overall, patient reviews highlight a mix of caring staff and disorganized, sometimes disrespectful care, leading to some patients choosing to leave prematurely or avoid returning.

Horrible care. One hand doesnt know what the other is doing. Over medicating patients without permission Lying on patients charts saying they refused service when it wasn't offered. Silencing patients when they attempt to go AMA. Informing patents the hospital is a lockdown hospital. Creepy Chaplins in the middle of the night. Staff hovering over patients. Blood curling screams and protests from patients through out the night. Arguments with staff about comprehension of orders from other places. Patients cardiologist and doctors never informed. Doctor Lyons tells patient he wants a urine sample, give iv and someother order. Never done. Patients are left in the dark. Patients going AMA after they've had enough of the disrespect and disregarded treatment. Patients being insulted on accusations made by staff. The accusations made to the patient doesnt fit character in real time life. Staff charting refusals after patient goes home and calls for an advocacy. only to be told about things the patient never knew about. Being left in personal clothes not explaining procedures of how to get shower towels. only to be verbally told over the phone after the AMA that the patient refused showers. The only good thing I can say is Brooke the African american woman who resembled my Sargent at work, was the only one who really cared. she needs a promotion and a raise. She cared and the Creepy arrival of Chaplin she was nice too. Everyone else mind games with the patients. It was hell and as soon as there was issues with another patient sunday morning, (after they took out my IV after they figured out they didnt need it for a procedure that was talked about all weekend. I booked it AMA. I feel terrible for the patients on Progressive Care floor who couldn't escape. Terrible place. Yes I argued the ADA and the ACA approved meals for I have education and referenced to the educational programs I was in. I am a Master trainer and nutritional coach and know better. I am also in my masters and understand policy procedure of bureaucracy and know how the Healthcare systems hands are sort of tied. I fought to mimic my Mediterranean diet at home. I explained how my menstrual cycle and the two major hormone aspects of my DNA played a role in my fluctuations of my diabetes per month. No one cared they just thought Oh shes talking about her educational stuff again. im not utilizing my educational powers beyond what I do at home. I felt my safety and care was disrespected, dismissed, when it should have been healthcare professionals working with me for optimal health possible. no instead I ended up with a not so stellar ekg that I later understood was a possible myocardial infraction, no one rechecked nor did they call my cardiologist who is always on call. lab reports were less than becoming and I found out through the portal for my labs. no one talked to me about them. Er said my labs were fine. No they are not. also giving people meds they don't know about as in pain meds probably not charted neither. Thank you for traumatizing me, I will NOT RECOMMEND NOR BE BACK.

nurse practitioner Jillian Hudson gives extraordinary service and care to patients. She asks questions about your illness, symptoms, and medical history. Explains her medication plan and puts it to work right away. I wish many of the doctors in the ER were like her.
