“We've had multiple large landscape projects done since 2000 when we moved to Saddlewood in Kerrville. These have included koi ponds, stream bed, fountain construction, putting & chipping green, custom fencing of stockade wood or wrought iron. When we moved to Riverhill, we contracted with AllTex because they could accommodate our timeline & their bids were less than our previous local landscape company. Tobin & his brother designed a more compact No-pond/reservoir for our smaller yard, beautiful herringbone pattern paver patio hardscape with artificial turf the under the deep shade of the tree canopies plus using a mix of evergreen, perennials, annuals & fragrant plants that would feed both birds & butterflies, plus fragrant offerings & native plants that need less H2O like Hill Country Penstemon, Blue Flax, Lavender, Viburnum & other Master Gardener approved varieties. The drip irrigation allowed the plants to establish w/ minimal water. We also got new cedar fencing with graduated picket-tops following the sloped terrain. Our recirculating waterfall helped obscure any road noise & was controlled by a remote to show it off when not in use. The entire design was focused on a low maintenance lock-&-leave aesthetic. When we move back from Colorado as the Pandemic waned, my husband was able to get the other local company to meet us during our trip over to see our current house. Although his design was lovely, we were left hanging w/ little execution despite tens of thousands in deposits & draws. We had to pay the wonderful Kerrville Masonry to finish the modern stucco outdoor fireplace I designed + the coordinating outdoor kitchen topped w/ grey Lueters Limestone. ( David & his Kerrville Masonry crew work w/ AllTex). It took a while to save more money to finish the terracing & backyard fencing that was originally planned & partially paid for. We called AllTex to give us a bid because they had met our deadlines previously at a reasonable price. We love this Riverhill large view lot but the mowing & maintenance where the back hill drops off at 20 degrees grade for 100 foot depth was a pain & I could grow nothing in the unfenced backyard due to the herds of deer. It was disappointing for an avid gardener: I just don't do weed eating or mowing that's not done on the riding mower. ? AllTex drew up very specific engineered-designs that created a terraced backyard where the limestone butter blocks held back a giant gravel French drain topped with a drought resistant, Texas Bermuda mix. The new safe & secure flat yard preserves the view + is fenced w/ wrought iron. These photos BEFORE & AFTER AllTex show how much more difficult & time consuming yard maintenance was BEFORE Tobin's crew made our backyard a showcase, on time & on budget. After losing thousands on the previous contractor, we were a little worried but AllTex made all our fears disappear + left us with a gorgeous flat ,low maintenance backyard. Photos show BEFORE & AFTER AllTex . Their work is impeccable. We would hire all texts again if we needed further landscaping.“
