I’ve been searching for a hair braider since moving to Houston and finally found Unique Braids. I tried stitch braids for the first time and absolutely loved them! Miss. Tina has done my hair Extentions for more than 10 years. She does an amazing job that no one can ever tell that I have Extentions on. She is very gentle with her hands, full of knowledge and very professional. Her prices are very reasonable and her work is amazing. I highly recommend her services.

This is the best salon experience I’ve had in Houston. The environment is very conducive, Ms. Tina was very welcoming and friendly, and she maintained a professional demeanor. The hair braiding was completely pain-free. Of course, I’ll definitely be coming back again and again.

I am just moving to Texas and I am blown away how poorly my hair was done. I saw this post on Tik Tok of a young lady that had her locs braided over with Boho Braids. They didn't look bad so I reached out. I asked all the necessary questions and also let Tina know I was new to Texas. I was quoted 250 for Braids over Locs and nothing else. I also sent a pic of what my locs looked like and how long they were. I reached out a few days before appointment to ask if I should wash my hair and buy hair but got no response back, and I also called. No answer. In Baltimore everything is included with price so I didn't think anything of it and went in for appointment. I let her know I didn't wash my hair, wasn't sure if it was offered in appointment. She never says its additional so I sat down and got my hair washed. After wash I sat under dryer and thats when I was told that she does not supply hair because of to many complaints so she went and got a synthetic boho curl and some braiding hair to start my hair. She started the front of my hair and an additional person came in and she started the back. After it was all over and done with the total came to 317.00 for my hair. My hair was taken out by April 8th, 2026, after baring a very intense headache I couldn't take it. My daughter pointed out that the braids in the front were very sloppy and loose in some of the braids. the back was very tight and done better than the front. Tina put a ton of Mousse on my hair and by the time I got home it was frizzy and very tangled. I tried to put it in my bonnet after putting a oil spray on it and it helped but was still very frizzy. I knew I should have gotten human hair with the style (I had had it before) but took her word for it that it would last. Two days... And that was me trying to give it a little grace because I knew I wouldn't get my money back. I just took it as a loss. I definitely will not be going back. On top of the ride I had to take to get on that side of town, Very bad business. The braid work was ver un-neat, and to many hidden prices added on to the 250. I was grateful I had the money to give to her, but was on a budget trying to save on a style that didn't even last 2 days....I should have asked for a mirror and looked deeper into my braids, it was somewhat dark in there and my head hurt so bad I didn't want to move it. It got worse over the course of 2 days. Go here at your own risk. I miss my hometown already for this is the fifth time I have had an issue with businesses that I am dealing with not doing good business. On top of I had to cut some of my locs to get the hair out of my head....

I had a great experience at Unique Braids and Weaves! I went in as a walk-in with Tina on March 5th for small boho knotless braids, and she exceeded my expectations. She was very gentle, patient, and made sure I was comfortable throughout the appointment. My braids came out beautiful, and I’ve had no tension problems at all. The shop has a very comfy vibe, and it was clean and organized, which made the experience even better. I’m posting photos of how well my braids are holding up because her work really speaks for itself. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Today I got boho box braids (shoulder length) and really loved the service Ms.Tina and Tati provided for me today. Tati worked on my hair and was very efficient and organized, I really loved the end product a lot! I called Ms. Tina this morning asking if I can come in early and she provided great service to get me in as soon as possible. I will definitely be back again :)

OMG what can I say, this place is amazing. The ladies were so Friendly & Respectful. They did my hair exactly how I asked and then went way beyond my expectations. They engaged me in their conversation and I didn’t feel like a 3rd or 4th wheel. I even got some excellent advice about weight loss 🤗. All in All I am definitely making this my only hair braiding shop.

Every time I come here, they never let me down! They are quick, gentle, and affordable! My go to place when I need some quick bomb braids! Definitely recommend coming here if you want your hair done right! Update** After having headaches for 2 days and wondering why I realized the back of my head was done with regular box braids and not knotless that I was quoted for and paid for! I had to take my hair down 2 days after getting it done due to the pain! I asked for half my money back at least and was offered my hair to be redone but I chose to get my hair done on a Saturday due to an upcoming trip and other obligations I have during the week that would not work with me getting my hair redone in the back! I paid $300 for knotless and got half knotless and the back was very poorly done! Once I called and sent pictures I was advised the back was knotless but it’s not! It’s box braids, you can clearly see the knot at the top of the braid! I will not return after this!
