TXRX Labs

TXRX Labs is a makerspace that offers a variety of tools and equipment for hobbyists and creators. It is especially suitable for weekend hobbyists who enjoy working with their hands. The facilities include good tools, though some larger machines are older, and there are no standard machines like a surface grinder. The space is a non-profit organization, which means it has limited resources; some donated tools are broken, and short-term storage for inbound material is not available. Despite these limitations, the staff are helpful and knowledgeable, working hard to maintain and improve the space, even if they can sometimes seem busy or rushed.

Membership involves a monthly fee, which can be expensive for some, and does not cover all training and checkout costs. Some users feel that the community aspect could be stronger, citing internal drama and a lack of a close-knit environment. However, for those interested in classes like screen printing or looking for a space to work on projects, TXRX Labs offers opportunities to learn and create. The female welding instructor is highly praised for her attention to detail and thorough tours. Overall, TXRX Labs is a good place for those passionate about making, especially if they are willing to pay for classes and navigate some organizational challenges.
