About Hotel ICON, Autograph Collection
Hotel ICON, Autograph Collection is a beautiful hotel with a great location. The hotel offers spacious rooms with comfortable beds and large bathrooms. The air conditioning works well, and the housekeeping staff is accommodating. However, there have been some issues, such as no hot water, key cards not working, and old, inefficient elevators. The parking is expensive at $50. The hotel management has been praised for addressing problems promptly and taking great care of guests. The maid service is excellent, especially when extra towels are needed. The hotel has a lovely view of Houston, and the rooms are spacious and serene. Everything from the trim work, molding, brass fixtures, and spacious bathroom (tub and standing shower) is well-done. The breakfast service is pleasant, and guests have had a fantastic experience at this hotel. The hotel lobby and common areas have a wonderful smell, and the staff, especially the concierge, Mr. Chu, are wonderful. Mr. Chu has a great sense of history and provides great recommendations for food and activities within walking or taxi distance. The hotel also features a beautiful deck with a pool, a fantastic gym, and a sauna, with awesome views of the Hong Kong skyline and Victoria Harbor, especially in the evening.
Such a cool old hotel, right in the heart of downtown. The room was quiet and comfortable, the restaurant and bar onsite was great, and they kept the classic look of the building while providing the modern conveniences you would expect of a top tier hotel.

From the moment guests arrived, there was a sense of grandeur and permanence that is increasingly rare. Originally constructed in 1912 as the Union National Bank Building, the property was designed during an era when architecture was intended to inspire confidence, optimism, and civic pride. This is an older hotel, so you get some of the nostalgia of it being an older hotel with some of the niceties of a nicer hotel. It has a bar and restaurant on site with room service. There is no free breakfast, but they do serve breakfast. The breakfast buffet is $25 per person(we found coupons in the bible though so look there if you visit).
The good, the service was all good, the food at Line & Lariat was good(we only had breakfast) and the bartender was nice and the drinks were good. The bed was really comfortable, I usually have issues sleeping in hotels and I slept great.
