Overpriced hair salon and horrible products. I curl my hair here and it looks so dry and damage it takes me a long time to recover.

I realized my review was only on yelp so I wanted to make sure I shared my experience on google too since I do feel it’s important to let people know what happened here.

I had such a great experience when I went to Amy's. She and her team did a fantastic job with my hair and l even came in a few days later to do a deep conditioning treatment and I built a great rapport when I came. I tipped very well as well. I live in NY and was here to see my grandparents and I intended to come back the next time I was in town and Amy told me I absolutely should. We even discussed when I would need a touch up. She was raving about how great my hair was and taking pictures and was even telling me about her grandkids and I talked about my trip to Saigon a few years ago and we talked about food and it was truly great!
Fast forward 4 months later, I text her to schedule my next appointment (as we discussed) when I'm there in June (she said to text her) and she tells me she's refusing my service and does not give me any reason other than she wants me to be happy with my hair and cannot do that which baffled me because I was SO happy with my hair and I literally have no idea why she said this and I feel really hurt and confused. I debated posting but I think it's important people know if you're trying to find a place that you can return to again and again and built a relationship with a colorist like I was, don't go here because your business might be DENIED! I wish Amy would have told me what the issue was because I guarantee there was no issue whatsoever when I was there. I'm truly hurt and disappointment with this establishment.

The staff is really nice! Was able to take walk-ins and had less than an hour wait for two people. The shampoo service was sooooo relaxing and refreshing. Haircut came out great! My brother’s cut and beard shaping made him look like a new better looking person. Highly recommend.

The desingners and worker should understand English better. I asked grey root cover and side bang cut/perm. She started dye my whole hairs so I just let her did that. She started cutting my back hairs and I had to stop her saying I just need my side bang cut. She also didn’t understand I said I’ll work out after this and shower so no need to blow dry. She just kept doing it anyways. I had to stop her again. I said I want a perm for my side bang whole time and she just tried to use Dyson to curl my side bang. she didn’t understand the word “perm”. I had to stop her and yelled “PERM”!!! like curl!!!!
My side bang came out like the instant ramen noodles and I was aware of it. They started straightening my hair with blow dry and flat irons without any explanation. I was asking whole time what was going on and they just don’t explain anything and kept doing what they’re doing. It’s my hair and I deserve to know what she is doing to my hair. I just took out my gown in the middle and paid and walked out. The worst experience ever in my life. Be aware they don’t understand you if you speak English and they just assume and do whatever they want to do! worst cut and perm ever.

I would say don't knock it till you try it. I know alot of us have been going to Amy for years. I know for me it has been 19 years, back when May was cutting my hair. but there was one review on here where she mentioned she still decided to give them a try. So I followed suit. I had my appt for today and I was pleased with my service that I rcvd. Lets me start with the shampoo because that was my favorite part lol. They thoroughly washed my hair massaged my scalp and head and base of my neck it was heaven. I feel Angela who is the new owner did a great job. You get the sense that she loves what she does and aims to please her customers. She has a very similar cutting technic to Amys. I loved how my hair came out and she has the fancy new Dyson hair tools too! I've always been on the fence about buying them but I think I might now. I just want to say that I am glad that I gave them an opportunity and to find out for myself. I will keep going there. I hope this helps anyone who is on the fence and needing to find someone now that Amy has officially retired.

Second time visit under new management but I must say I haven't been happier! I told Angela the specifications of my cut and she added more to suit my face shape. She took her time and I'm now in love with my haircut. She's meticulous and skilled, very pleased.

I came here with my mom who has short curly hair while I have long straight hair, we both loved our haircut done by Angela and her team! She really takes her time to make our hair perfect, they wash and massage your head and neck for a long time which feels amazing. We also did our eyebrows and they did a great job. You can really notice the effort they give. You really can't find a salon as good as this these days. Best in Houston. We are now loyal customers. Thank you again

I know there are a bunch of reviews on Amy not being there, so I was a bit skeptical going there. The experience, for me, went great! I was taken care of right away, my haircut experience was great! I was charged a bit more, but it didn't break bank compared to other places. I will definitely be back for a trim!

Super great place for a great wash for hair. Scalp massage is the best. The blowout looked great
