Dr. Chris and his staff are amazing! My kids had bad experiences with previous dentists and Dr. Chris cured those woes in one visit. Him and his staff are friendly, informative, non-judgemental, and flippin' hilarious! For once we are actually excited about our treatment plans.

New patient. I had the first appointment at 2pm when they reopened after lunch. They wanted me to fill out several pages of forms before I could be seen. Because they were closed/doors locked for lunch, I could not get started on the forms a reasonable time before my appointment. I turned the forms in at 2:10. I continued to wait. At 2:30, I asked if it was typical to be running late for the first appointment. One of the ladies went back to check. She told me it would be about five more minutes. That did not make sense, and I guess I had a confused expression because she said, “You were still filling out the forms.” Come to find out, they gave my appointment time to someone else because I had not finished my forms at my appointment time. In addition, I did not sign the consent form that appears to waive my HIPAA rights, as it stated they could disclose any medical info while being free from repercussions. Also, the typical form stating your HIPAA rights was not provided. The person behind the counter did not like that I was not giving my consent and became rude and argumentative. At 2:30, I asked for my paperwork back and left. Horrible experience.

Responding to the (I assume) Dentist’s remarks, you missed the point entirely. So, let me get out the sock puppets to help.
    1. I am not questioning why or when you give employees lunch. THE POINT IS that a new patient was scheduled at a time that did not allow forms to be completed ahead of the appointment. Solution? Don’t do that. Schedule appropriately for new patients. Most facilities tell new patients to arrive 15 minutes early to complete paperwork. YOU GAVE MY APPOINTMENT TIME TO SOMEONE ELSE while I filled out the forms. You can’t brush over that by responding with non-cogent remarks. Respect that my time is equally valuable.
    2. You have a customer-facing employee with an attitude problem.
    3. I understand the need for the form to authorize communication with the insurance company for billing purposes. However, it includes disclosure of mental illness, diseases, basically anything, and the business has no liability. What does mental illness, alcoholism, abuse, etc. have to do with cleaning teeth?? Anything in one’s personal life that has nothing to do with teeth is none of your business. The form states I can request privacy restriction, but was not given the option. The employee-of-the-month stated I could either sign it or pay out of pocket.
    4. Finally, I am not calling you to discuss this further. You have my number. Perhaps you should call me to apologize for how I was treated.
Is the point more clear for you? You are asleep at the wheel.
