I am coming to the end of my 2 years in this program. When I separated from my childrens dad-at the time my children were 1 and 3. I was a stay at home mom, I am a young mom, I entered the program at 23. There was one month we lived in 5 different places. The only work experience I had at the time was waitressing which is very unstable and inconsistent as a sole provider. Gatehouse allowed me to breathe. I fully attribute my admittance into the program to God. If I didn’t have the gatehouse it would have very much been a situation where I was working multiple jobs, never seeing my children, and and I would not have been able to ensure their safety. They’re still at such vulnerable ages and are completely thriving. It is not an easy program, the goal is for you to be self sufficient. You have to want to work towards different goals and there are requirements. The gatehouse staff in many ways has been too gracious when their program offers SO MUCH the financial ways they support us here equates to thousands upon thousands of dollars. The gatehouse is privately owned and they are upfront in their requirements at in take and take ample time and focus in updating us of any changes, so in my opinion issues a member faces with staff or programming would be a reflection upon them and not the program. As someone who had only entry level work experience I am leaving running a dental practice administratively and clinically-am able to afford rent, all other bills, subsidized childcare (which is another huge benefit because the waitlist for CCMS is very long and gatehouse helped me with that too) and I can still afford to save. I am very thankful to the gatehouse. There is no perfect program out there because humans are imperfect beings but I’d say gatehouse comes pretty close.

I really dont understand the bad reviews. Felt the need to share my story and hope other woman can benefit from this. Gatehouse was a life saving blessing for my 2 year old son and I. About 9 months ago I had to go to an emergency shelter due to domestic violence I was there for 2 months not knowing what I was going to do next. I happened to find Gatehouse online but was told by emergency shelter they could not referred me since it was a religious program, Decided to take a chance and referred MYSELF, they call me for an interview and approved my application days later. So I am a living witness that they do not just accept people from their sponsors. Is sad because they...read full review
