The best builder in the Houston area for the dollar. I personally lived in a Cervelle home for 15 years and it was an extremely well built home. The amount of square footage you get for the dollar you spend cant be beat. They have the best garage options with barn garages and second story options. They are the only builder I have seen that will build massive garages for their homes.

Cons: Having this builder our home. The quality of work is poor for the price of the home. They do the bare minimum on building code. The final QA walk, we were told we couldn’t point out anything and the sales lady was the only one that could do it. We would point out cosmetic issues like the dry wall taping coming off and we were told the superintendent wouldn’t fix that. Several roof shingles were raised and we were told “well we passed TDI inspection so it’s fine.” Also the drainage plane for the back holds water after rain. The siding to ground is near one another without 6” between them per code. This builder doesn’t do a 3rd party inspection to improve their quality like lost other builders.
Pro: Their floor plans and garages are awesome.

So after living in what we thought would be our dream home. We are left with mold in our kitchen and bathroom cabinets. Many homes have moisture coming up from the concrete and the carpet is saturated. The owner refuses to honor his warranty. If you are in the process of buying a home from Cervelle you should Reconsider. There are many homes in the neighborhood that have the same issues and the Owner refuses to acknowledge. In hindsight steer clear of these homes until they resolve this major issue.

I'm just beginning the process after almost a year of trying to decide what area of the city I prefer. My first visit to Cervelle was impressive. Kathi gave us a lot of information and Chris let us look around at finished construction to get a better feel for the floorplans. As to the majority of the negative comments I've seen online regarding Cervelle: 1) race - I'm not a person of color so I can't speak to that experience; 2) professionalism - everyone I've ever spoke with at Cervelle has been the consummate professional, on the phone and in person. They aren't flashy - no big screen monitors to show floorplans, no fancy website or interactive design software - but I'd rather not pay for flash so I'm good with that; 3) amenities - there are no splash pads, fancy playgrounds, community centers, or workout rooms - I don't want to pay for all that, either, so I like that Cervelle has given us a different option. I'll update my review as I go through the process but it looks great so far.

So many issues in our home to list! The biggest is the ac unit that was put in...... outside was a 3 ton and in the attic was 5 ton! Not sufficient for foam insulation!

My brother bought a home by these HORRIBLE CERVELLE BUILDERS!!!..DONT DONIT...BUY FROM HOGAN OR SI.EONE ELSE!!!..They are PATHETIC...4 homes in my brother's subdivision have caught on fire..because of faulty wiring!!!!..My brother had the same problem..he had to pay $17,000 to get it corrected ..no rebar in his driveway!..Collapsed!!..flusingthe commode made the sewer come up in the tub...empty water bottles found in back of his microwave...Bricks uneven..and fell through!!!..His neighbor fell through his roof 2 years ago...no plywood..only tar paper...I could go on and on!!!..THIS MAN. NEEDS TO BE STOPPED AND PUT OUT OF BUSINESS!!!!..

There will always be racism in America. My husband and I visited this location and interacted with sales representatives, Susan, a white woman or Karen. We walked in minutes prior to a white couple. Susan asked if everyone was waiting to be assisted and I just sat back because I knew how everything would unfold. My husband and I were basically brushed off by being ask "what can we help you all with?" There was no warm and friendly welcome. No introduction to the home builder, etc. Susan then approached the white couple and actually demonstrated great customer service with them. I am not surprised. So my husband and I leave out but wanted to ask one my question before leaving. We enter again and Susan states "okay guys, really quickly, what do you all need"? Wow! I was so shocked. My response to her was that it seems as if we were being an inconvenience. After showing and verbalizing frustration. She tried to clean up the mess that was already made. You never know who people are, what type of work they do, how much money they have in the bank, or properties the person has. You should treat everyone the same. Susan lost a great customer with great credit, properties, career, etc. Do better DOIRON SUSAN. Lastly, the quality of these homes is horrendous. The caulking is unfinished, the cabinets are cheaply designed, electrical outlets are crooked, light fixtures are cheaply designed. You are literally just paying for the space. Racism and bad quality are horrible mixes. Do better, Cervelle. Do better, Susan.

Beware and watch every step of the way to ensure you get what is promised in your contract. They will promise to fix things their contractors messed up or and then say either buy the house or we will sell It to someone else. They are extremely rude and have a take it or leave it mentality. If you are building your dream home with these people, run as fast as you can. They won't let you use a realtor as a go between. Everything seems so illegal and I have reported them to the BBB and the state with our emails.
