Cranial Technologies is praised for its friendly, supportive environment and excellent outcomes.
A few months ago, my husband and I noticed our son was favoring looking to one side — and he only wanted to sleep on that same side. As parents, that concerned us. We went to our pediatrician, who referred us to OT. There he was diagnosed with torticollis, which led us to PT at KORT Kids Pediatric Therapy. Our physical therapist recommended we schedule a free consultation with Cranial Technologies to evaluate the flatness on the back of our son’s head. We walked in not really knowing what to expect. At that first appointment, they took detailed images of our son’s head. Not only did they send us the images, but they also provided a personalized video explaining his head shape, the measurements, and how it compared to age-based milestones. They included a full chart and report so my husband and I could review everything before even speaking with the doctor. Our son was diagnosed with plagiocephaly. At the recommendation of OT, we also saw a neurologist. He suggested waiting until our son was 6 months old to begin the DOC Band. However, we didn’t feel fully comfortable with that recommendation. As parents, you just know when you need more clarity. Cranial Technologies took the time to educate us on why the optimal treatment window is between 4–6 months, when head growth is most rapid and results are typically best. They explained the reasoning, the data behind it, and what waiting could potentially mean for Roman’s outcome — which helped us feel confident and informed in our decision. After weighing everything, we chose to move forward — and I am so glad we did. Our son started his DOC Band on December 31st, and little man officially graduated this past Saturday! 🎉 Had we waited until 6 months, there was a strong possibility he would have needed a second band or a longer treatment period. From start to finish, the team at Cranial Technologies walked us through every step. They answered every question, addressed every concern, and never once made us feel rushed. The level of education, compassion, and professionalism truly stood out. If you are a parent navigating torticollis or plagiocephaly, I highly recommend scheduling a consultation. Having clear information and a supportive team makes all the difference. 🤍
