Why is the old guy even there if he can’t read X-rays?

I’ve overall had a great experience with this vet- the staff are very caring people and the younger vet doc is very down to earth and not trying to scam people.
But my cats last days were awful. I should’ve gotten x-rays two days sooner, by the time I did, she was misdiagnosed and given 3 enemas when I probably should have been keeping her hydrated and comfortable. Because Dr scott doesn’t know how to read X-rays I guess??
I probably won’t ever come back to this vet , I might’ve saved some money but I wish I would’ve gone to one more thorough and serious.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this veterinarian office! From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly kind, reassuring, and patient. They took the time to explain everything about Bun Bun’s spay procedure and made sure I felt completely comfortable and informed every step of the way.

Even my husband (not a morning riser) got recruited into bunny duty and helped me with the official 8AM “drop-off mission.” Bun Bun may be tiny (2.4 pounds), but she showed up with big opinions — complete with dramatic grunts, permanent RBF, and a level of sass that honestly deserves its own warning label.

Despite her… spirited personality… the team handled her so gently and professionally. You can truly tell they care about their patients (even the feisty ones). I felt so reassured leaving her in their hands, and that peace of mind is priceless.

If you’re looking for a vet who is compassionate, knowledgeable, and capable of winning over even the most aggressive fluff ball — this is the place. My husband and I are extremely grateful!

I cannot say enough great and amazing things about VVPHC. Our pets have been getting their vet med needs here since we moved nearby in 2022. Dr.Caperton has been our main vet, but Dr.Scott is also fantastic. They have seen 3 dogs, 3 cats, and 5 kittens and all their needs. We always trust their judgement and advice on best care for our babies. We love the entire stuff and truly feel loved by everyone in there. I HIGHLY recommend this vet office to anyone looking for veterinary care.

I’ve been with Valley View for many years and can’t say enough good things about them. Three generations of my bunnies have thrived under their care. I cannot recommend them enough to anybody looking for excellent care for their pets.

I brought in a wounded stray kitty hoping to get antibiotics and help. One would expect a veterinary professional to be equipped to safely examine a cat, yet no meaningful examination was attempted. The cat had visible patches on her skin that could have been evaluated, but there was little interest in examining them. They also claimed they couldn’t estimate her age because they were afraid to check her teeth.

I was charged the full $80 exam fee, even though the only thing done initially was weighing her. Dr. Caperton refused to properly examine her because she was a stray and said he was afraid she might bite, despite the fact that she was not aggressive.

When I questioned the full exam charge and stated that I was refusing to pay for an exam that never took place - while still being willing to pay for the antibiotics - the front desk staff threatened to call the police on me. That was unprofessional and completely inappropriate.

Overall, I experienced a serious lack of empathy and professionalism. On top of that, the clinic itself felt dirty and had an unpleasant smell. I will never bring my pets here and do not recommend this clinic to anyone - especially those trying to help stray or injured animals.

Editing review. Senior dog had a tumor in his spleen. He was losing weight and in pain for 2 months. I took him in several times and Dr. Caperton kept diagnosing it as arthritis and never mentioned the possibility of a mass in his spleen knowing that he is a senior dog and it is common in older dogs, until he finally got an xray and an ultrasound. I almost decided to put my dog down after listening to him but I ended up getting a second opinion from a different vet and finally ended up getting a splenectomy elsewhere and now he is already doing so much better, pain free and eating well. He never even replied back to my email, showing he does not care. I would not trust this clinic. If he had correctly diagnosed my dog, I would have done the surgery sooner. If you drive further, there are better vets that give your dog more care and pay more attention to detail.

Dr. Caperton and the staff are friendly and takes great care of my senior dog. He got teeth extracted here and the process went great. Prices are also cheaper than most other places. The Dr is upfront and honest and doesn’t try to push you to do anything extra. He also takes the time to explain everything and never rushes. Highly recommend this local vet.
