They don't accept Medicaid. I wonder why that is? Perhaps Medicaid doesn't pay or takes to long to pay? Maybe the doctor doesn't have the correct credentials to qualify as government certified? Who knows, maybe they don't like dealing with people who can only afford the bare essentials for corrective eyewear . Just no profit in Medicaid? Kids, maybe it's the kids? Who knows? Meanwhile, poor people in Moore county have to drive to Amarillo for glasses. And better hope they schedule properly or you'll waste time , and money for gas. Don't we take care of our own?

My husband arrived in Dumas around 4:30 PM, on refinery business, and found his eye to have suffered a scary looking, probable blood vessel hemorrhage . I called, after seeing a photo of his eye, begging for him to be seen and was flatly refused despite our willingness to pay cash for whatever fee was assessed. He was told to go to the local clinic where he would be seen by a medical doctor or PA , not an optometrist or ophthalmologist. I’m astounded at the lack of compassion and sorry for the locals needing eye care.
