I still miss this salon! We moved back to KY, so I'm not able to go. But Sophia was really the first person in years who did a great job on my hair. She was kind, considerate, and made me feel at ease. After a horrible experience at another salon where someone laughed at me for my thinning hair (PCOS and Dysautonomia have killed it) I was so scared to get my hair done. She did a great job reassuring me and making me feel beautiful.

I have been coming to Sophia’s for 6-7 years. I live here on the island, and not only is the salon convenient, but supporting small local businesses important to me! Sophia gives me and EVERY customer 100% Professional service and attention to detail! The salon is sanitized, clean and organized. The kind of place where you are greeted at the door and made to feel like you matter! Rare these days! I find it disgusting that miss Otte Has nothing better to do with her life than LIE about a local small business owner! She doesn’t even live here??! It is OBVIOUS she PULLED the lashes out?! Look at the pictures … Please. Come on… I have gotten my lashes done by Sophia for years and NEVER ONCE has a cluster of lashes just fallen on the counter. That’s a lie. It has also NEVER taken 3-7 hrs??! Another lie. She PULLED them out. (We all know what you did!!) Maybe she had an allergic reaction to the glue? Some people do. It doesn’t mean she should slander a small business, and actually attempt to get her in trouble with her board??what is wrong with this person???? Unreal!! Miss Otte, you should be ashamed of yourself !! Your LIES have down absolutely nothing but make you look like a fool! The Texas Licensing Regulation found ZERO validity to your pathetic allegations! You should be served with a lawsuit for defamation of character! Pathetic !

7/28/2024 UPDATE Still no refund or accountability. But I was informed the Texas Licensing Regulation began their investigation. 7/26/2024 UPDATE: NOW I had to go to the hospital because I have a severe eye infection. Still no refund or accountability for this disaster. Next I shall be calling the news. Just to be perfectly clear I am NOT threatening any kind of bodily harm to anybody. I wouldn't get close enough to even spit on these people. Even though Sophia spent 3 hours plucking out most of my natural eyelashes with the fake ones while my eyes were burning so hard that I was tearing. I sat through it instead of going elsewhere to get them removed because she TOLD me she would do the removal at no charge and either redo them or refund me 50% of the $177 I paid back. If I would have known she would not honor what she said I wouldn't have allowed her to torture me for another 3 hours. Specially since she couldn't remove them all like a professional. Why is it so hard for her to say "ma'am I'm sorry for destroying your eyelashes, giving you an eye infection, torturing you for a total if 7 hours, continuing to try to remove the horrible eye lashes we super glued to your eyes when I didn't have the skill to remove them all safely AND ruined your vacation.
These people not only pulled all of my natural eye lashes out while attempting to correct the botched eyelash extensions they gave me but took hours doing it while I laid there in pain crying. I went in and was upfront that my right eye had an eyelash lift gone wrong but they said they could still do the extensions. After they originally did them I was mortified at how they looked and my eyes were burning, red and swollen but Whitney said they were the type of lash that I wanted(even though they were COMPLETELY different than the pic I showed her) and she thought they looked good and there was nothing she could do. So i left after paying $177 for the worst eyelashes I've ever seen in my life and then they began sticking and falling out while I was driving back to my hotel so i immediately went back to hear Whitney again say she couldn't change them. So again i left and said I'd give it the night and maybe they will look better in the morning after absolutely no offers to fix them at this point. Then 1 hour later Whitney called me saying if i come in at 12:30 tom she may be able to fix them so i agreed. Then clumps of these lashes kept falling out and my eyes were very inflamed and burning so I messaged Sophia that id rather have a refund bc I was scared if we messed with them any more id get an eye infection. So the next morning she responded first saying they don't do refunds but after some discussion she agreed to take them off at no charge and to come now so i dropped everything i was doing and drove there immediately(on my vacation i might add). She said if i can wait she will take them off and reapply them so i agreed to wait and she began removing them which ended up taking another 3 hours while my eyes were on fire BURNING and my real lashes were getting plucked out along with the false ones only to not be able to remove all the false hairs and adhesive. She then said "I think you have a allergy to our products and I don't feel comfortable putting on anymore lashes with your eyes so irritated." To which I said that's exactly why I just asked for a refund the night before. Whitney is literally the best hairdresser I've ever had. I have blonde hair, which is very fine. Trusting my hair in someone's hands is equivalent to my life. If you're a natural blonde with bleach, you get it. Also, she does hair and eyelash extensions!!! absolutely kills the game!! yes yes yes for me!!!!
