We just recently sent our 8 month old Golden Retriever puppy, Derby, here . I cannot say enough good things about EJ and Heidi and their methods for training! Derby has undergone a real transformation in his behavior and yet still is the same lovable, happy dog he’s always been. Heidi and EJ did the hard work for us regarding obedience and following basic commands and manners, and they equipped us in how to follow through! I really appreciate how they understand and helped us understand a dog’s natural mindset and behavior, and how to capitalize on this in training. They are organized and warm, their home is clean and inviting, and we felt comfortable and confident to leave Derby there for 2 weeks. We received progress reports and pictures as well as the most helpful booklet to take home. This is an invaluable reference for us when we have questions or doubts in trying to consistently follow through. Derby is so much more enjoyable to have in our home, take on walks, etc. As an example, this morning , he kept obnoxiously getting in our way so I told him, “place,” and he immediately went to his “place” and just watched us (rather forlornly) but stayed there chewing a toy. The toy fell off and he tried to reach it, finally getting off to get it. I said, “No, no!” And he immediately got back on until I told him to break, whereupon he happily ran over to us. My husband said, “That (training) was worth every penny it cost! “ We are happier, Derby is happier, and I can’t recommend Complete K9 Training enough!
We sent my 1 year old dog peaches there two weeks ago and she is a COMPLETELY different dog. Our biggest issue was she was very afraid of the leash/harnesses, and I could not take her on any walks, she would literally have a anxiety attack if I put it on her and tried to drag her out the front door. She was defiant and would not be obedient to our commands the first time. She was literally her own boss and we were getting so frustrated. So we made an investment and I am honestly so glad that we did! This is only day 4 of having her home with us, and I was able to take her on a 2 mile walk this morning 🥹 I could cry happy tears. She did so GOOD!!!
After years of raising dogs—including a feisty bull terrier—we thought we had this puppy thing down. But bringing home two energetic little girls quickly proved us wrong! I can’t recommend Heidi and her team highly enough. Thanks to their guidance, our family feels confident and equipped to handle these adorable bundles of energy and stubbornness. The girls now know all their commands, and we reinforce them with just 10 minutes of daily practice to keep everything fresh. The transformation has been amazing—and we’re so grateful.
