I wanted/needed to come and recommend Lacey McLendon and the whole team at forest lawn. They were so caring and went over and above to make such a horrible experience as easy going as possible. They created keepsakes of Jr. When I picked up Jr. remains my heart melted when Bryan buckled him in the seat belt because I was going to do the same. The team answered every question I had while in the hospital before Jr was born. This was the 1st place I called and everything from pricing to them showing genuine empathy while navigating the process. It was Constant communication from day one and im telling everyone is who is dealing with a tough time of losing a loved one. Give them a call, they won't disappoint.

The box with the temporary urn and Jr remains, the candle, the book marks, the big keepsake that can go inside of a picture frame and the teddy bear urn all comes from Forest Lawn. Without the Forest Lawn team being the special people that they are I seriously don't know how I would have made it. In the absolute toughest time of my life I had some amazing people who cared for me in all aspects. Especially the mental aspects by giving me things I can continue to remember him by. Thank you for everything that you all have done. It means so much for to me and I will always remember how you all cared for me when I couldn't care for myself. You have a life long customer who will continue to bring customers.

My family’s experience with Forest Lawn was truly beautiful. My sister had suddenly passed at 26 almost a month ago. It has truly been one of the most devastating things we have experienced. My sister was the kindest and brightest person we’ve ever known. That being said we wanted someone who would take care of her, like one of us would. Lacey McLendon did exactly that, and then some! She made sure to get every detail exactly as we wished, wrote the most beautiful obituary, answered every one of our questions (multiple times over with our minds scattered), treated us as were family, comforted us, went out of her way to get clips for my sisters hair (so she could do it just like I used to all the time). Our girl truly looked beautiful and at peace. Lacey was a godsend, and she will forever have our gratitude🤍

Forest Lawn went above and beyond the service, kindness, compassion and caring for our families. These professionals did such a great job in the short time they had to accommodate us due to the Easter holiday weekend. So sorry they had to work double time and overtime to help us thru these very tough times. Thank you Miss Lacy and all the staff for an excellent experience during our time of need. So very much appreciate everything Forest Lawn did for us. Great job. Thank you. May God bless all of you there.

    Where do I even begin…

I recently experienced the unexpected loss of my father, following the loss of his beautiful wife this past December. Planning a funeral for the first time is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone, and I truly had no idea where to start.

That’s when our funeral director, Lacey, stepped in.

Lacey had previously worked with my father while planning his wife’s service, and it was clear how much trust and connection had been built between them. You could see it in the way she cared for every detail then, and again in the way she guided us through this process. From ongoing conversations about headstones to even helping my dad consider a memorial bench, she was someone he clearly trusted.

I cannot begin to express the amount of gratitude my family and I have for everything Lacey has done for us. During an incredibly chaotic and emotional time, she was a steady, compassionate presence. We faced unexpected challenges, including issues with life insurance and having to make the difficult decision of a closed casket. Through it all, Lacey handled every situation with such care, honesty, and empathy.

She didn’t just do her job, she went above and beyond in every way possible. She made us feel supported, informed, and most importantly, cared for. In a time filled with grief and uncertainty, it truly felt like we were being helped by family.

I don’t have much experience with funeral directors, but I can confidently say that Lacy exceeded every expectation we could have had, and then some.

Lacey, if you happen to read this, please know how deeply grateful we are for everything you’ve done for our family over these past two weeks. We truly could not have asked for a better person to guide us through such a difficult time.

    With love and appreciation,
    The Harper Family ❤

My Mom passed in Arkansas in February. Lacy Mclendon handled all of the transport back to Texas and kept us updated every step of the way. She kept in contact with us. And offered compassionate support. Her knowledge and support during this time created peace for our family. I often shared with my girls how I appreciated her support. We were in Arkansas so everything was via phone which is a little more challenging but she gave us the confidence to know that preparation was in place and set up. The day of the service we arrived and everything was perfect. Thanks so much to Lacy and forest lawn.

Lacey and the team at Forest Lawn were extremely helpful and were consummate professionals arranging my mother’s funeral services. Extremely communicative, attentive to any and all needs, wishes and details, and fostered a sense of warmth and security for my family in our time of mourning. Lacey even ensured the wellbeing of our family days after the services concluded.

All our needs were med. A prayer arrangement was already in place so there was no worries. I would recommend Forest lawn..

Hollywood Cemetery in Orange is a peaceful place, but it takes a little patience to navigate because the lots and sections aren't marked very much at all, so we wandered for a bit before the landscape finally opened up in that quiet southwest corner where we found what we were seeking, the final resting place of JP Richardson, the Big Bopper, a simple stone carrying the weight of a sad story and a life cut short too soon, and standing there you feel both the stillness of the grounds and the echo of a moment in American music that ended far too early.

Keep in mind that this is an active cemetery so please be respectful of those who may be mourning a loss.
