Buckle up, because this is a ridiculous ride. I am dissatisfied (to say the least) with my experience involving a gift certificate purchased for my mother-in-law. In February, I sunk $150 in a gift certificate through SpaVia's official website (ttps://onburnettx.spaviadayspa.com/gift-cards), anticipating a pleasant and relaxing service for her. Unfortunately, the reality has been far from that. Since the purchase, there have been multiple instances of appointment cancellations, often at the last minute, due to various reasons such as unavailability of slots, masseuses, or aestheticians. My mother-in-law canceled once due to illness, but the nature of the cancelations by SpaVia has been disconcerting. Moreover, despite assurances that the gift certificate was procured directly from their website, requests for a refund have been met with resistance and claims of third-party involvement. This is perplexing and unacceptable, as the transaction was completed on THEIR platform, with no third-party like Groupon involved. To add to the frustration, the actual gift certificate was never received, only a receipt via email. Attempts to resolve this by contacting customer service have been futile, with responses indicating an inability to locate the transaction in their system. Compounding the issue is the requirement to use an app called “Hownd” to access the certificate. Despite following the instructions, the app fails to recognize my sign-up email, rendering the certificate inaccessible. When seeking assistance, SpaVia representatives appear to be unaware of the app’s role or function. This series of events has not only led to a loss of funds but also a significant amount of time and effort spent attempting to rectify the situation. The lack of accountability and transparency is concerning, and wish they would address these issues properly.
