Shawn did an amazing job on my daughters hair and the five stars are solely for him. Unfortunately, if I had to give it on the actual salon It would be a 1 star. My 14 yr old Daughter was scheduled for her cut with Shawn/ This is our first time at this salon and my daughter hasn’t had her hair cut in years. She’s been growing it out to donate 12 inches. So we walked in with my husband and 2 year old son for her appt and the front desk girl checks us in then immediately goes and grabs another women hairstylist ONLY to ask us if we were planning on staying. Just moved to Austin and gave Salon Vela a try. Chris was fantastic. My color and cut were exactly what I had hoped. The entire staff is very welcoming too. Parking is very convenient. This place is a true find!!

Cristina is great! She’s done my hair a few times now, and I recently came in for a haircut. She really took the time to listen to my concerns and explained everything clearly, which I appreciated. I have naturally curly hair, and her blowouts always look great and actually last. Something I personally value is when there’s space for quiet moments during an appointment without it feeling awkward and with Cristina, the vibe always feels easy and comfortable.
