About Life Time

Life Time Austin-South positions itself as an athletic country club, offering a comprehensive range of amenities beyond a standard gym. It boasts an extensive fitness floor, unlimited studio classes spanning various styles, including GTX (similar to Orange Theory) and Alpha (inspired by CrossFit). The facility also features basketball courts, eucalyptus steam rooms, and both indoor and outdoor pools. Members can access unlimited group training and personalized attention with a Signature Membership. The facility is highly regarded for its cleanliness, with well-maintained workout areas, saunas, vapor rooms, and locker rooms equipped with amenities like razors and hair dryers. However, some users find the pricing, particularly for single memberships, to be excessive compared to other gyms, especially considering they might not utilize all the offered amenities like childcare. While overall experiences at Life Time Austin-South are positive, recent reviews indicate that the facility can be crowded at all hours, suggesting a high number of dedicated gym-goers. Some areas may also be closed for extended cleaning or renovations. Despite these issues, many members appreciate the clean facilities, the variety of machines, free weights, and classes available. One standout feature is the personal training offered, with trainers like Tyler Garrett receiving high praise for their knowledge, motivation, and ability to customize workouts. Members report significant progress thanks to their training sessions. However, there have been mentions of a less favorable experience with staff at the front counter, highlighting the importance of friendly service in creating a welcoming atmosphere. Overall, Life Time Austin-South is suitable for individuals or families seeking a wide array of fitness and recreational options, emphasizing group classes and specialized training.

I've been training with Tyler Garrett for a while now, and I can confidently say she is the best personal trainer I’ve ever worked with. Tyler is incredibly knowledgeable, motivating, and truly passionate about helping her clients reach their goals. She takes the time to understand your individual needs and customizes workouts that challenge you but are also achievable.

What sets Tyler apart is her attention to detail and constant encouragement. Whether you're just starting your fitness journey or you're looking to push past a plateau, Tyler is right there with you, guiding you and pushing you to be your best. Her energy is infectious and I genuinely look forward...read full review

Overall, I enjoy working out here, as a new member. The facilities are clean and there is a wide assortment of machines, free-weights, and classes, plus a ton of amenities to choose from.

The absolute worst part of this location is Michelle at the front counter. Michelle consistently has a poor attitude and is a terrible representation of the Lifetime Fitness brand. I first visited with my wife to tour the facility on a weekday morning. I was made to feel like a fool and a burden by Michelle, for choosing the day and time I did without making a reservation (which I had no idea was even a possibility). Apparently, weekday mornings are quite busy, which I understand;...read full review

It’s nice but is always crowded these days, doesn’t matter if you go at 6am, 1pm or 10pm. Must be a high concentration of gym rats who just live here. Areas are frequently closed for extended times due to cleaning or “renovations”.
