About First Eye Care
First Eye Care is a warm and welcoming clinic where patients feel taken care of by the friendly staff. Dr. Tex Cole, previously the lead doctor, has retired and left his patients in the capable hands of Dr. Sharon Edwards and Dr. Butler. Patients appreciate the time Dr. Edwards takes to explain everything in depth and the care she provides. The optical department and front desk staff are generally helpful, although some patients have had negative experiences with specific staff members. Despite this, many patients continue to return to First Eye Care for their eye care needs, citing the excellent service and care provided by the doctors and most staff members.
I have been going to First Eye Care in Pantego for years and I absolutely love it! The thorough exam and attention of the doctor has always been top-notch and my prescription is always been perfect even as I’ve aged and it’s changed.
If you read through some of the negative reviews, as I just did, you can see some of it has nothing to do with the office or care.
I had previously written a one star review due to the quality of my glasses, but I decided to go back up here and have them looked at.
A really nice gentleman named Hugo ( sorry if I misspelt the name) helped me with my issue and gave some very interesting information about glasses and the texas heat.
Turns out if you work in the heat that maybe glare free glasses are not the best option sometimes the heat can cause them to get this milky texture on the lens that’s aweful, so maybe get some with out the glare free for outdoor work or attic work (if that’s your profession) and a second pair that you can wear outside of your daily job routine.

I was referred by my Dr Glenn Coullard before I moved here to see Dr Tex Cole in 2010. Dr Cole, Josie, and all the ladies at front desk, and the optical department go out of their way to take care of my family. As I sat and observe, I found myself smiling just listening to them all happily working together helping one another. Dr Cole’s awesome, and keeps you smiling he and Josie. By the time I leave my cheek muscles need a rest, and my mouth to because I am a talker. My Mom says everywhere I go I know somebody. But little does she know. That would be our first time meeting. This care I observe goes far beyond my family as I see other patients go in and come out happy....read full review
