There is not enough space to be able to comment about everything that this company (Meredith Portwood and her team) did for my mother during her illness and our entire family throughout this horrible process. They answered every call, text, and email almost immediately. Their love and compassion they showed is truly unexplainable. I thought I knew what hospice was about, but I had so much to learn and their patience throughout that learning period was worth everything. Where to begin? Heart and Soul Hospice is a God-send! After an unfortunate experience with another local hospice company, I was a little reluctant to try again to find a better fit for my 94 year old Grama who lived with me for the past 6.5 years. I was opposed to simply just stopping all of my Grama's meds, as the previous hospice company was pushing us to do. So we were discharged back to palliative care. A friend in the medical field had recommended Heart and Soul Hospice to me when I asked her if she knew of any hospice companies that it wasn't their mission to just stop all of a patient's meds.
