The team at Red Dragon have been nothing short of amazing. Mr Whitworth, the instructor, is great with teaching complex ideas in a way kids can understand. The BJJ class is great but parents need to understand that jiujitsu takes time and your child might be frustrated with lossing for a good long while. It is not an instant gratification sport, it takes time. Give them a year and trust the process.
I went in as a visitor for a Saturday open mat (no-gi) but when I reached out to Dustin (not sure if he's the owner or not) I made him aware that I mainly only train in the GI and would like to get some rolls in and he brought his go to help me out while I was on vacation to get some GI rounds in! I also rolled no-gi (which I don't typically train) and everyone was very genuine and all of them were kind people who had a good base knowledge of jiu jitsu to help dial in some techniques and slower pace that I've been working on. I will definitely be back to train when I'm back in town!
Both my kids are enrolled in classes and they love them. My son has been training there for 2 1/2 years in total and watching his confidence sky rocket has been an amazing experience for me as a parent. The classes are great for discipline, focus, and a great form of exercise. The lead instructor really cares about the students and it shows. What Red Dragon has done for our family as a whole can’t be described in any other words but a true blessing.
