It’s always a great experience there but the dental assistant was wonderful! She took her time, carried on conversation and was extremely gentle. Always a pleasure going to TLC Dental.
For those who want to read a brief 2 sentence review...Stop here. For others...this is MY story. So previously, I was always that type of person that dreaded going to the dentist. I would go but hated every moment. I was told on many occasions that I had a problematic dental makeup even though I brushed and flossed. I always assumed that going to the dentist equaled...pain. I assumed the only people who enjoyed going to the dentist were the ones who had perfectly straight and healthy pearly whites and just needed a cleaning or the type that went to literally drool over the very attractive dentist. For the other 98.2% of us, when given the chance of either a bullet in the head or going to see the dentist, we would chose the bullet cause honestly it seemed more comfortable. Not to mention we are in the middle of a pandemic and not too fond of multiple people putting their hands in my mouth. So needless to say when my tooth broke, not only was I in pain (barely could eat )but also completely stressed out about the situation. I ended up making an appointment at a dental office close to me (NOT TLC). After going to get x-rays which as many of us call it "The Torcher Chamber" especially when you are already in pain, the dentist came in and spent 2.5 minutes looking in my mouth, telling me it was infected, needed a root canal, which they don't do there but I could come back for the crown. And just as quickly as she came in she left, making me feel like only a number. At the desk on the way out, they slapped me with this absurd price if I came back for the crown. I politely paid my bill for that day, grabbed an Rx for antibiotics and left without a second appointment. I just happened to be talking with one of my closest friends, told her what happened and asked if she could recommend anyone. Without missing a beat, she said TLC. She too had a broken tooth in the past and Dr Cribbs was so gentle with her. So I called right away. Bergie answered the phone with the sweetest voice. I told her my dilemma and even said I was thinking of just getting the tooth pulled instead of a root canal. Bergie was so calm, so caring, went above and beyond checking in with surgeons for possible tooth removal. Then she recommended coming in that day so that Dr. Cribbs to take a look and see if she could help. Just talking to her gave me encouragement so I went. Ya'll, Best decision ever!! First off, super safe with pandemic protocol. They have you wait in your car till your room is ready. Masks, sanitizer, temperature check..very thorough. The rooms are very clean! They have TVs on the ceiling for your enjoyment! The staff is insanely nice, they felt like family right off the bat. And let me tell you Dr Cribbs (Terrie) was AMAZING! She sat and gave me her full attention. She was so patient with me while I asked a thousand questions. She educated me and put my mind at ease as to what was going to happen. She was upfront and said if I wanted it pulled, that was fine, she could recommend a surgeon, but her "job was to save teeth not get rid of them". I loved that. I did still have to wait till the infection went down. She explained the reasons why. Not to mention her prices were a fraction of what was quoted me and that was without dental insurance. True to my friends recommendation, she and her assistant Wendy were so gentle, so kind. I decided to do the root canal.I DID NOT FEEL A THING!!! Thats right...nothing....nada. I actually had a great day considering. So why am I telling you this extremely long story! Surprisingly I am not one to leave reviews unless it really, really warrants one. Maybe Im going overboard, but this experience has changed my whole 40 yr viewpoint on my dental health. Im very thankful for TLC. If you are tired of feeling like a number, and scared to go to your next dental appointment, choose TLC. They will not disappoint. This will be my family's dentist from here on out. They are true to their name. TLC is not just an acronym for Dr Terrie L Cribbs. Its definitely a place you go for
