Summit Medical Associates is a medical group with a mixture of experiences. Some patients have experienced miscommunication regarding appointment times, leading to long waits. However, doctors such as Dr. Ring are highly recommended for their knowledge, attentiveness to anxious patients, and thorough follow-up on diagnostic tests. Dr. Showalter and his staff are praised for their welcoming attitude, taking time to listen to patients, and making them feel unrushed. Overall, Summit Medical Associates has caring doctors with varying levels of administrative organization.
I have been going to Summit for a couple of years. This is the only practice my family has ever gone too. This practice has apparently taken on too many patients. When a patient gets sick and needs to see the doctor they don't want to hear there is nothing available for a week, not even for a NP. I typically wait a week when its cold/flu symptoms before I even call a DR because colds sometimes go away. Waiting another week for an appointment with your Dr is just not acceptable. On the upside I do like my Dr and nurse and feel the NPs are competent and thorough, just wish I could see them when I am sick. There is always the ER I suppose.
Drs.McMillen, Robinson, Carringer, Hira:
My family and I see multiple Drs at the Park West location. I am more than please with each one of them. I can say for sure that they each have given the best care that we have received from a Dr in a very long time. Their Nurse Practitioners are amazing as well. Caring, Concerned, Great bedside manner, spend a great amount of time with us, follow up is always made in a timely manner. Just love them: Dr. McMillen, Dr. Robinson, Dr. Carringer, and Dr. Hira. Thank you for all that you do for us!
I had to have an ultrasound done at Summit Diagnostics. The waiting room was clean, nicely furnished, nothing fancy, welcoming, and, I almost forgot, it was decorated for the Christmas holidays! The receptionist immediately greeted me, and quickly and efficiently checked me in for my 1:00 appointment. After a 15 minute wait, or so, my name was called, and I went in for my ultrasound. The ultrasound technician was pleasant and got right to the procedure. She was all business, very little small talk, which was fine, since she has a lot to focus on, and the procedure was over sooner than expected. That's it. This location is farther than the Summit Diagnostic in my neighborhood, but I was able to get an appointment sooner at the Park West location. I'll gladly drive to this location if it means getting in sooner than my neighborhood Summit. And, oh, by the way, I saw one Bible in the waiting room, and I'm okay with that.
