The original part of our house was built in 1935 as part of the Homestead Project on the Cumberland Plateau. These houses were built with the stone and timber from the surrounding area by the future owners and their neighbors. Because of this there were some questions on exactly how things were constructed, but we knew that there was no insulation. We found out we had 10” exterior stone walls, framing for the walls, and then the tongue in groove paneling. Eddie and his team were great to with. We now have quiet, warm rooms where it formally was very cold. Looking forward to seeing the difference in the summer.
We had Retro foam of East Tennessee come out two weeks ago. Our salesman was Martin. It was nice to see Martin was also one of the workers that came to install. They worked quick and they were professional. We can see a difference in the keeping of the temperature in the house. We are happy with the work we had done.
We had our 1960's home done this summer. The men were courteous and worked quickly. My husband is sensitive to odors, but he was not bothered at all inside the house. In the last couple of months, our electric bill has been lower than last year even though it was warmer this year, and we had the AC turned down lower. I am looking forward to keeping warmer this winter.
