Central Vet (Mill rd.) had been a breath of fresh air for my family! We are NOT your average pet owners; both my wife and myself have been in veterinary/shelter medicine for 2 decades. We have done it all! Veterinary practice management, licensed veterinary technician, shelter adoptions manager, lead shelter behavior specialist, dog trainer, and canine physical rehabilitation (PT for dogs). I am a Certified Canine Rehab Practitioner and received my education at UT. I’m sure that you can imagine; with the years of experience and knowledge that we possess, finding a veterinary facility that meets our requirements can be VERY challenging!! Things I am looking for in facility are as follows: modern website (showcasing the team is a MUST), online store, social media sites w/consistent posts, CSR’s who pickup the phone (not….press 1 for this, press 2 for this, etc.), electronic medical records (NO paper charts), clean & spacious lobby/exam rooms/restroom/outdoor space/reception desk, modern technology (digital x-rays, in house labs, dental x-ray, ultrasound, etc.), onsite routine & specialty surgery, email communication, weekend hours, and a high number of good reviews. That was just the list of what I look for in a veterinary facility, we haven’t even started on the staff requirements!! When evaluating support staff and finding the right doctor, there are a few things to consider. Is there a diverse group (age, gender, education, experience, etc) making up the team? When you have veterinarians across the “age spectrum” you can be assured that the medical tricks of the old days are meeting with modernized medicine of today. Staff longevity is also important! Trust me, an employee that is in the business to offer exceptional patient/client care will not stay on at a facility that doesn’t share in their principles. Lastly, having multiple veterinarians who take the time to provide good bedside manner, offer education on new treatments/medications, and believes in the importance of follow-up care….A++! I know, I’m a high maintenance person, but I own my animals the best possible care and will always take the time to find the most appropriate care for them. Central Veterinary Hospital has met all my needs for staff & facility! I am always greeted by a smile, the hospital is always clean, the support staff are knowledgeable, and the doctors go above & beyond every visit!! Thank you for taking on a crazy veterinary professional such as myself, I know that we can be a difficult group of clients. Shout out to: ⭐️Dr. Megan Broadrick for taking good care of the new patient Neshoba I brought to you! Tracey was very impressed by your hands on exam and follow up phone call to go over bloodwork. ⭐️Jess the assistant for your awesome venipuncture skills on a jumpy Aussie. ⭐️Autumn at reception…..you were AMAZING at answering all my questions, getting a refill on my pups medication, quoting costs for my upcoming visit, and going over all 4 of my dogs reminders!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️GREAT JOB⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Back in 2018, my childhood dog took a turn for the worse- literally overnight. Our regular vet was closed that day and we were struggling to find a reliable vet to help our beloved baby pass over the rainbow bridge peacefully. That’s how we found Central. They handled everything promptly, professionally, and with the highest level of care at the downtown location. 2 years after that, my ‘regular’ vet basically killed my cat. Because of that, I fully switched to central and I haven’t looked back. The fact they have multiple locations takes convenience to a whole nother level! My closest location is the Mill Rd one and I absolutely LOOVVVEEE everyone there. Triston, Michelle, and Dr Shultz are my go to people. We have 5 dogs now and whenever we go, they know us by name, they’re always friendly and ready to help, and they’re so compassionate no matter the situation. I can’t recommend Central Vet enough. -and if you’re looking for a pet sitter, you can find my fliers at their front desk 😊❤️
