We unexpectedly lost my little brother in February. From the first moment we had contact Anthony and all the staff were amazing! You can tell this isn’t just a job to them. They really care and are compassionate towards the families. The day we had the graveside service it was raining and they were trying to dry the casket before placing it in the ground and a member of the crew took his jacket off his body and dried off my brothers casket. It was freezing and I’m sure he had more work to do that day. That’s just one example of how much they truly care for the families during such a hard time. Can’t say enough great things about Monte Vista and the staff!
I lost my nephew and dad within weeks of each other. Monte Vista went above and beyond to take care of myself and our family. Anthony and Renzie and the whole staff make sure everything is perfect and take care of every detail. Both looked like they were just sleeping and very natural. My nephews service was in the chapel and it was so beautiful. The rock and stained glass are so light and airy and make you feel at peace. My dads was at his church and they communicated with the pastor there and took care of absolutely everything so I didn’t have to worry about anything except grieving. I was updated every step of the way on both services and couldn’t be happier with how they both turned out. During a time no one wants to go through they take care of you and are true professionals, I would recommend Monte Vista to anyone and thank them for helping and taking care of me during the most difficult time in my life.
In February 2021 we required the services of Monte Vista when my husband passed. Anthony Harris and the team there were the utmost professional I had ever encountered. They treated me and my family as if we were the only ones in need of funeral arrangements and services and for that we will be forever grateful. When all was said and done I called Mr. Harris one day and asked if my mother's prepaid arrangements made at Morris Baker could be transferred to Monte Vista and he said yes they could and he would be glad to help me. My mother passed away last week on September 1, 2021 and I had the nursing home where she was a resident call Monte Vista within an hour of getting the call Anthony Harris and his apprentice Heath Vance arrived to pick up her body and take it to Monte Vista. Mr. Harris as well as being the funeral director was also training Mr. Vance and I immediately noticed how patient and kind he was with him. Mr. Vance took instruction well and I found out that my mothers body was the first he had handled and he did an excellent job. Later in the day my daughter and I went to Monte Vista to make the arrangements and both Mr. Harris and Mr. Vance helped us with great care and compassion. I don't think the folks at Morris Baker were very happy that I had changed my mind about who took care of my mother's final wishes but I felt much more comfortable with Mr. Harris and Mr. Vance by my side during this process. When all was said and done My mother's graveside service and all accessories were much nicer than what she had picked out in 2008 and a whole lot cheaper. The insurance claim was filed and the check was cut to pay Monte Vista on Tuesday 9-7-21 and the balance which was interest that had accrued on her policy was mailed to me since I was listed as beneficiary. I highly recommend Monte Vista Funeral Home and Anthony Harris and his team for your funeral needs or even if you are thinking of transferring your prepaid needs don't be afraid and don't let anyone pressure you. You CAN transfer to Monte Vista without any hassle. Just call Anthony Harris or his apprentice Heath Vance they will take care of you and you will be very comfortable with the process not to mention you will be very glad you made this decision.
