“My wife and I are very pleased with the work that Clayton Hammer, and his team did for us.We had an ornamental pond in front of our house that was constructed 50+ years ago, time and nature had taken it’s toll on the stonework and masonry, and we badly needed to repair and refurbish it.We contacted at least 3 other contractors, and none really offered solutions, that met what we were looking for. After looking for solutions and options we were about ready to fill the thing up with dirt and move on. One day while driving through town, we noticed a local business that had installed an aquascape in front of their business. We called and got P&H Earthscapes contact information.A day after we called, Clayton and his business partner arrived and we began to talk about options, ideas, and budgets.One of things that was important to us, was to retain as much of the original stonework as possible, and to make the pond blend naturally into our environment. Clayton seemed immediately understand that, and he listened to our thoughts and ideas, and he offered suggestions and solutions that made sense to us.Our project was large, and had some challenges that had to be overcome. Our pond was and still is fed by a natural spring, the water from the spring had found its way around the pond and created some “wet” areas in our yard. So along with the pond restoration, Clayton had to address the drainage issues.As we moved onto restoring and refurbishing the pond, Clayton designed a waterfall with twin streams that flow into the pond, and it creates a soothing atmosphere of sight and sound that really sets the whole aquascape off.The original shape and stonework of our pond was able to be kept intact, Clayton installed a liner, and then set boulders along the inside to hold the liner in place and reinforce the pond walls, the original stonework is still visible and that was something that we wanted.Clayton’s knowledge and expertise was really impressive. Along the way, whenever we encountered an obstacle or problem, Clayton found solutions to make everything work.There were no surprises, from day one, there was clear communication. As we discussed what we wanted Clayton told us what he could do, to make sure we got what we wanted, and his eye and talent for designing the water feature, and the landscaping was spot on.
