“We chose Misty Westebbe for Senior Portraits because of her responsiveness to my initial contact and her laid back approach to scheduling, but I had no idea what to expect. I work full time, including several weekends per month, my husband was away for the year for work, and my son, who did not even want to have pictures taken, was busy with job shadowing and summer classes. Misty made everything easy. She won Justin over at the initial meeting. He is shy around new people, and I was worried we would end up with lots of pictures of him looking uncomfortable or with fake smiles. Misty suggested clothing options and listened to his interests so the pictures could reflect what he wanted. She even arranged to use a grand piano after he mentioned that it was important to him. She got to know him and that was reflected on the day of the shoot. Misty completely worked around our chaotic schedule to find a time that would work for the session. The day of the pictures we were prepared with lots of clothes and accessories but were still apprehensive. We started with the piano. Justin just sat down and played; there were no awkward poses or fake smiles. He was relaxed and natural. As the session progressed, he even made suggestions and took some fun photos with Misty’s sports car and his sunglasses. Every single shot was relaxed and natural, with true smiles. I managed to finish the preview of the photos without crying, but it was definitely an effort! Choosing the prints to get was harder than everything else. I couldn’t wait to get the finished products. I shared them immediately with friends and family and anyone who comes to our house sees the book on the coffee table. Everyone comments on how relaxed he looks. I was stressed about finding a time that worked and getting good pictures; Justin was stressed about taking pictures at all. But we worried for nothing. Misty made what we expected to be a chore into an enjoyable experience and a great mother-son memory.
