I had the same experience as Ashley. Lane quoted a price for tree removal after the ice storm. He could start quickly and was local, so I hired him for a fair price. At the end he shows up with an additional $5,500 on the invoice. He said that 2 additional trees had fallen after he priced the job. This was not true. I proved he was wrong with pictures. He immediately switched to another fallen tree, claiming it fell later. Again I proved him wrong with a dated picture. He then accused me of creating the picture with AI. I don't even know how to do that. Lane is a cheat and a desperate man trying to take advantage of people. Look out for him.

Buyer beware. I hired Lane from Outside the House (OTH) for a large residential project (installation of 40+ trees) and unfortunately this was a bait and switch experience. The project was quoted far under the competition (RED FLAG #1) but the conversation and intent seemed genuine at first so we decided to support a local small business. By the end of the project, we were hit with a final invoice 30% over budget, to be surprised without warning financially hurt our family. Contacted them to discuss a large front yard project and they were too busy to even talk with me for a future date. They offered to come out in three weeks and did not get my voicemail. My review is based purely upon initial contact and communication. Apparently they are very busy. Good for them. I hired other landscapers who did make time to come out and scheduled work for the future in October.
