I was without a medical practitioner for over a year. I felt like I was banging my head against the wall trying to get care. From the front desk staff, the nurses and right to my medical practitioner, they have opened doors for me that I've greatly needed. Thank-you!

I left my appointment feeling unheard, dismissed, and deeply discouraged. In my experience, Melissa McEwen did not show the empathy, support, or willingness to engage with complex medical needs that I was hoping for in a provider. I felt judged rather than helped, and my concerns about chronic conditions, mental health, and pain management were not meaningfully addressed.
Instead of collaborating on a care plan, I felt pushed toward excessive referrals and told to seek specialists who are extremely difficult to access. My existing diagnoses and medication history seemed to work against me rather than informing a compassionate treatment approach. I left in tears feeling worse emotionally than when I arrived.
The clinic environment also felt unsupportive — my interactions with the staff contributed to the sense that this was not a place equipped or willing to help patients with layered or long-term health needs.
This is just my experience, but based on it, I cannot recommend this provider to anyone who needs comprehensive support, trauma-informed care, mental-health sensitivity, or help managing chronic conditions. I hope others find a practitioner who listens, collaborates, and treats them with respect and understanding.

Absolutely horrendous front desk customer service. Looking for help and they want to do nothing but shove you away.

I was supposed to have an over the phone appointment with Dr. Zhao on October 16th at 8:50. I waited for phone call for 20 minutes and no one called. I had to step away from the phone for couple of minutes and, when I came back, I found 2 missed calls: from doctor and from my emergency contact. Calling back gave zero result, as call goes right into voice mail. I left voice mail, where I think I clearly explained who this is, what happened, asked to schedule new appointment and notify me about it by phone call. Today I received a call back. Turns out, they can't see me having appointment on the 16th, but they see that I had an appointment on the 4h of November, that was canceled by patient and next available is at the end of the year. I wasn't aware of having any changes of any rescheduled appointments, and I did not cancel anything. I don't know how many people are on the front desk and if they have any hearing problems, but they need to do some work on their communication skills, not only with each other, but also with their patients, and definitely need to get their shit together.

Dr vermaak is one of the best family drs i have ever had and will take the time to listen and talk through things if he thinks that is what is needed . Has been our Dr for 15yrs and seen us through many illnesses with caring and a quick wit that will bring a smile

After my last visit Mr Dr Vanheerdon prescribed a new puffer. I feel like a new man. Thank you so much for giving me more mobility. I cannot believe the difference after just one dose

Dr Vermack was very rude. I came in to help my mother with some concerns. He kept cutting me off and told me I was being in other words being hostile. I deal with anxiety and I left the building crying as he would intrupt me and wouldn't let me speak. The way he made me feel was horrific when all i was hoping for was help and reccomendations.
