Philip Health Services

The Hans P. Peterson Memorial Hospital was established in 1953 with the help of Philip, South Dakota rancher and philanthropist, Hans P. Peterson. Peterson deeded his ranch so that a hospital could be built to serve our rural area, and members of the community joined together to raise funds to complete it. Philip Health Services now encompasses a complete health care facility with a hospital, medical clinic, nursing home, assisted living center, satellite clinic in Kadoka and many other services. Located midway between Rapid City and Pierre, just north of Interstate 90, Philip Health Services has become a health care destination for the rural communities of western South Dakota.
