These are some of the most genuinely loving human beings I have ever met. The natural means they use here and the kind and patient care given has resulted in healing people very dear to me that weren't supposed to get better. This is truly a special place ❤️

Bad food, condescending staff, no doctor on duty at the time, I have blood sugar issues and they wouldn't let me eat and I got sick. Then they made comments about my weight when I was there for depression. They were really rude about the weight. Very cult-like attitude. Go anywhere else. Also their idea of therapy is giving people a paper of Bible verses and saying that solves the problems. I felt humiliated and belittled there. I wish I could give zero stars. Also I am of Jewish Ancestry and people made antisemitic remarks implying that God caused the Holocaust on purpose.If you do feel the need to go take your own car becauseThey feed you tasteless slop.I had menstrual cramps and they gave me something that looked like a witch's brew to drink complete with stick like things floating in it. It went down the toilet.The massages I got were physically painful. I couldn't leave or even protest because my husbands employer had sent us and I didn't want him fired. I had to smile and let them do things to me so my husband could keep his job.And then they spread misinformation. They said vaccines cause autoimmune disorders like Multiple Sclerosis. They also said education was bad and accreditation for a school is not a good sign. The theology was very works based as well. It was very cult like and scary.There were no medical professionals on duty except a nurses aide who didn't know how to work a blood sugar tester. Quack!These people charge less than their competitors but you get what you pay for.And with no qualified medical professionals on duty? Horror movie fodder! This place was so bad I wonder if they wrote any good reviews themselves to get people to come.

What an Amazing place. A Lifestyle center operated by some of the most special people you will ever meet. Spiritual based in the foothills. Chef Marc Anthony and just team sever the most tasty whole plant based meals you will ever have!In the first 2 weeks of my 23 day stay I lost 29 pounds! I learned how to care for my body in the way that our creator wants. People from all walks of life come here. People with diabetes, high blood pressure, cancers etc. And they leave with a new lease on life. Most with reversed medical issues and no longer taking doctor prescribed medications.You will have no regrets at this piece of heaven health and education center.

I AM THAT I AM I drove to Black Hills Health & Education Center (BHH&EC) in Hermosa SD in Oct '20, in the midst of COVID-19. I figured if I kept going the way I am, in 10 years I may no longer be an "I am." I consulted over the phone with their chaplain, "Pastor Jim" Martin several times b4 coming. My talks with him allayed some fears. They did accommodate my Covid concerns, and they did not require me to turn over my cell phone, or my junk food to them until I left. In other words, they treated me like an adult. Due to Covid, there were only 5 guests while I was there. This is an independently operated facility run by 7th Day Adventists (SDAs) , tho anybody is welcome. OPTIONS/DISCOUNT/ACCOMODATIONS Their programs are 8 day, 13 day, and 20 days. I opted for their 20 day medical program which normally was $5995, but was discounted $500 due to Covid. Their Wellness Lodge has 11 rooms, with daily maid service. You could also stay in your own camper on the huge compound. STINKBUG SURPRISE! The only surprise was the plethora of seasonal stinkbugs (Sept-Oct). They actually came in handy as I would smash them so that I could know whether I had Covid loss of smell. THEY GOT VENTILATION, SO YOU WON'T HAVE TO GET VENTILATED It's not a hospital, tho they do have a nurse's station. Facilities include Jacuzzis, hyperbaric chamber, massages, Russian steam bath, Finnish steam bath, contrast shower, and a gym. The gym included fans and windows for ventilation. Their fitness instructor, Jenny, was my favorite! We held many of my private daily fitness training sessions outside. MUST GO TO BED WITHOUT SUPPER! Only 2 vegetarian meals a day are served here at 8 AM and 2 PM as their health regimen requires that you don't eat meals before bed. But feeling hungry was never a problem. The rest of the time on weekdays is used for morning stretches, walks, various treatments, as well as cooking, nutrition, fitness, and SDA Bible health principle classes. WEEKEND GETAWAYS NOT JUST FOR SDAS On weekends, guests may attend SDA services in Hermosa (not required). Also, there are field trips, including to Mt Rushmore, Crazyhorse, Custer State Park, and weekly trips to a public swimming pool. BIBLICAL RESPONSE THERAPY Pastor Jim also held 1 to 1 optional "Biblical Response Therapy" (BRT) classes. BRT Is a spiritual version of Rational Emotional Therapy. Guests are given a copy of Dan Gabbard's (DG= another instructor) book of the same name. Most guests (esp from Red States) will find this book spiritually informative. But to me, it was a throwback to Bill Gothard. So I returned the book. Also, Jim and I ran into loggerheads re: a certain issue. It was the way he disagreed, citing "scriptural close mindedness", that caused me to break off from BRT. JIM OTHERWISE A GEM! It turns out both of us are dumpster divers! He can also bang down a banged up car like nobody's business! He told me how he once bought his totaled car from the insurance company for $75, then practically made it look new again on a shoestring! CAVEAT EMPTOR: RE: COVID They took our temperature at initial intake. And they did accommodate my "blue state" covid consciousness, by permitting me to open windows and turn on fans. And the staff and guests did wear masks and social distance. Tho enforcement was lax, as masks were not always worn properly. Not to brag, but by all accounts, I was clearly the most concerned about Covid. In their defense, Jim was right that wearing a mask too long can unnecessarily build up CO2 in your system. Sylvia, BHH&EC Director, said the lower population base, the surrounding antiviral Ponderosa Pines, and the SD red state mentality have all influenced BHH&EC Covid practices. WARNING: guests from blue states may find their red state Covid practices lax. This to me is disconcerting considering that this is a health institution. 1 staff member was infected because they permitted people from a retreat to come. The SD Covid hotline recommended I quarantine myself fo
