They treat chickens! When my girl Mellow started acting droopy, I was pleasantly surprised to find that Southern Charm Animal Hospital even treats chickens! Dr. McCathey is a “chicken tender” herself, so I knew Mellow was in good hands. She explained to me that Mellow had pneumonia, and was very thorough in explaining what she had done (x-ray, long lasting antibiotic shot, etc) and what I needed to do to help her bounce back fast. We also discussed Mellow’s history and weight (she was the runt of the bunch, and still is on the small side), and some good options to help her put on some weight. Mellow and I are so appreciative of the quality care she received. I immediately told my “chicken tender” friends that if they ever need a vet for their flocks, that Southern Charm Animal Hospital needs to be their first call!

We have been using Southern Charm since they opened. I stumbled upon them on reviews and have had the absolute best care we’ve ever had from a vet. Dr. McCathey is so personable and introduced herself before we even went back. Our animals are actually happy to go see them!

The staff at Southern Charm Veterinary Hospital are so friendly and welcoming. I was immediately impressed with them all. Dr McCathey takes the time to answer your questions and address any concerns you may have. I was very pleased with the care and attention my cat received, and he will be going there from now on.

WAS a client until today. Called for sick cat My daughter brought him in. Spoke twice to front desk they kept asking did I want to do his routine exam. I twice said no. NOONE explained to me or my daughter that they only do blood work for routine exams. I have been to vets for over 40 years so what vet doesn't do blood work when you bring a sick animal in?!! This place apparently. Soon as I called another Vet first thing was let's get some blood work. SC Vet charged me 245 for feeling his stomach and some meds. If I wanted to spend another 300 for xrays they could make sure he didn't swallow anything. What a poor practice and if you confront them The only Vet there says go somewhere else
You made the appt so if it was such a burden you wouldn't have seen him
Good luck being a small unprofessional practice. Your front desk did not explain blood work was for routine exams only which we declined a routine exam.
Sick pet= blood work. I HUNG UP because you were not listening and your staff of two people weren't listening so there was no point
Good luckwith your one room clinic where people can't be with their pets while you " examine " them.
