Ms. Belen runs a very inclusive, welcoming, and disciplined school! I think the students achievements also speak for themselves with several world champions in attendance. They go above and beyond to make sure parents are included (and appreciated) and make taekwondo a family-oriented experience. I would recommend this school to anyone looking for a new sport or an already existing martial artist looking for a step up from their current school.“

I can't thank them enough for adding in building my daughter's overall confidence while also enhancing her ability to concentrate more. The Huggins are pure jewels!!“

1258 Woodruff Rd, Greenville“When we moved to the area this past summer, I visited some martial arts studios in the area and I knew this place was different the very first time I visited. I talked to the owner for quite a while, never felt rushed, and observed a class in progress. I immediately signed my son up.
When a student first enrolls, they come in for a private lessson so that when they join a group class for the first time, they don't feel lost in the flow of the class. My 10-year-old son really appreciated that because he can be a little anxious about new things. We've been attending for a number of weeks now. My son just tested and recieved his yellow belt and is so excited to keep progressing! He never complains about jumping in the car to go or about the drills or exercises. In fact, it's his favorite thing to do during the week!
Sadly reviews are capped at 5 stars. Wish we could leave more!“

5000 Old Buncombe Rd Suite 8 & 9, Greenville“As a mom of 2 young kids with a full-time job, I joined the Shorindokai in 2024, starting karate for the first time in my life.
Struggling with finding the balance of spending time with my kids in the evenings with taking care of my physical health, my husband and I signed up everyone (38, 38, 5, and 3) as it was a win-win situation with family classes.
After a very short time in Sensei Josh's classes, learning about the philosophy behind the physical moves gave working out a deeper meaning. It's not just about counting steps or miles run. It's about self-discipline, precision, and doing your best (which changes daily and that's OK).
No matter how I feel walking into the dojo, I know after my 45 minutes in there, I will leave feeling worlds better, too.
Shorindokai is a super fun and positive, and you get out what you put in.
If you're having a particularly tough day, I highly recommend signing up your kids for the kids class and watching them warm up- the cutest and funniest jumping jacks you'll ever see.“

“Our oldest has been attending this school for a little over 2 years and our youngest for about 10 months. It has been absolutely wonderful for our children. The instructors are all fantastic and really good with the younger kids as well as being able to push the older ones to succeed. They keep it fun while still enforcing respect, discipline, and hard work at the school and at home. The students are great as well, our kids have quickly formed friendships with others there and look forward to going to every class. I can not say enough good things about this place, both masters, and all of it's instructors. We are happy to have this community as another family away from home.“
